I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

Sick and tired of VZ and ATT with these 36 months game. I have vz with all 4 lines eligible to upgrade. I was fine at 24 months, but these nonsense have to stop.

I would rather them come out with transference pricing for phones. That cost is built in the plan.

It's like car dealership experience. Someone needs to build Tesla of wireless phone company...

No need to wait. Pay off in days if you desire. No downside.

I am being told if I purchase in store that Verizon will let me pay all but $1 of the and set at sign up.
Then what.... Will I still be able to cancel the next day and get a refund for the remaining service amount. And can I do this via Chat or phone call directly with Verizon.

Did you cancel before 3 days elapsed ?
I've asked and still seen no answer. Does the 3 days start at purchase, or once shipped, or once the phone is turned on? I just check this morning and the mobile app won't let me register an account with the phone number that was on my contract saying, "We aren't able to validate this as an active Verizon number."

They have. Many of the cellular resellers (USMobile, Redpocket, etc). The issue is devices. The big 3 have a lot of power with Apple. These resellers don't get devices at the prices of the big 3.

I hate the game as well so I was a good boy and just paid the Verizon price and got bill credits but that was a mess too. Calling them to fix the bill which varied each month > $10. Made no sense. One phone was never getting the proper bill credits.

So now the new game is to game the big 3 and get the device and then put it on a reseller and profit.

When you order a new phone from us, it will be ready to activate when you turn it on. Simply follow the steps on your screen to complete activation and set up your iPhone®, Android™ or prepaid device. (VERIZON WEBSITE) should get my device Tuesday. 299$ and Tax was $24~ will activate by turning device on possibly in front of Verizon COMPANY store or just before, wait a few min, pay off (may need cash) make sure to get receipt for records, if this doesn't work call chat support and try or do another store. Then call chat and cancel the plan. Since phone is already paid off, will unlock in 60 days on Verizon. Keep RECORDS/RECEIPTS JUST INCASE. Will update.
I tried creating account on verizon with the new phone number I got when placing order at walmart.com However, when I enter the number as first step at verizon.com, it returned following message "We aren't able to validate this as an active Verizon number. Please double-check your number or activate your device.". Does this mean that the line/phone will be activated upon physical possession?

Anyone have any experience returning phones at Walmart? I'll need to return mine that I purchased yesterday when the system was glitching and didn't give me the sale price (I know it's my fault for not paying attention I was in the middle of doing something and was rushing through the process - I'll know for next time)
Not sure if you were interested in getting the price fixed instead of returning, but I called the payments department at Walmart and after about 40 mins of them researching the issue (price of $299/36mo on their side, $579/36mo on Verizon side), they (Walmart) processed a refund adjustment for the difference. They said it would be sent back to the card used to purchase the device within 7 business days. They noted the Verizon contract price would remain unchanged.

Not to add a layer of anxiety but I do wonder if activation coincides with following the steps in the email you reference...perhaps it's best to hold off until the device arrives, especially for folks who aren't expected to receive theirs until next week?
