I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

I placed my order for the Verizon version on November 8th 4:40 PM central time. I got the e-mail from Walmart with estimated delivery date of Saturday, November 11th. I tried creating an account on Verizon using the phone number given to me from the Walmart page, but it did not work. I was able to create an account via my e-mail but no luck when trying to add the mobile number. The Walmart purchase has you sign an agreement with Verizon which gives a Transaction #, Application #, and Contract #, but none of those can be referenced from the Verizon Phone Rep. I called about 22 hours after making the purchase and the phone rep still cannot locate any account even with the phone number I gave him from Verizon during the purchase. This leads me into thinking the contract doesn't actually start until you receive the phone and activate the sim card.

Same issue but I have a credit block. I thought the soft pull would get past that but it seems other people are having the same issue. I hope there is a workaround.

Ordered phone at noon on 11/8. Verizon new account.

On 11/9, I was able to create a new Verizon account by logging in using the new phone number (obtained while ordering). Had to speak to Verizon customer care to get the password for the account - they emailed me a change-password link.

Once logged in, saw the phone and $75/month plan listed. ($65 with auto-pay)

Looking into the "account activity" on the Verizon website, I see that the "Unlimited Welcome" Plan started on 11/9.

The Verizon customer care rep helped me pay off the $299 balance via credit card. Phone shows no installment plan due now (initially showed $299 due).

So even though I haven't received the phone yet (it did ship and is listed as FedEx delivery on 11/11), it's paid off.

Can I safely cancel the Verizon service even though i haven't received the phone yet? If so i guess i don't even need to bother with their SIM? I basically don't want to end up with an un-activate-able phone!

i think, if you dont activate then they dont unlock..others can correct

so i think, whether you pay off now or after activation..no difference

but how did you create account with the number but not without activating sim/phone
