It's back! Limited Time Offer!
Your points are worth 10%-50% more
Until 11/30/23 or while supplies last, your Chase points are worth more when you redeem for any product on the Apple® Ultimate Rewards® Store.*

Chase Sapphire Preferred is 25% more.
Chase Freedom Unlimited is 10% more.

https://ultimaterewardspoints.chase.com/

For example:

The $1199 iPhone Prom Max is 79,900 points (plus tax if applicable) if you have the Reserve (so retail * 66.7 points). Effectively 1/3 off at a penny per point.

If you have a card with a $99 ish annual fee, I suspect you get 25% extra (so retail * 80 points). Effectively 20% off at a penny per point.

If you have a no-annual-fee card, you likely get 10% extra (so retail * 91 points). About 9% off at a penny per point.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

But what if you aren't traveling much and need a new iPhone? Not everyone is looking for a 4 cent pp redemption on a round trip business class flight to Zimbabwe. Why not buy airline gift cards when they go on sale? (Like the recent Southwest cards at Costco).

Also worth noting you get extended warranty and purchase protection when you pay with points (you don't when you pay with gift cards).
You are really better off buying apple gift cards when they have promos or Amex offers to buy Apple giftcards for 20% to 25% off and using the UR points for travel to maximize the value.
I can get an iphone 15 pro for 66,600 points ($660 cash value points)

tempting

Sorry to be stupid but how do you "pay yourself back" at 1.5x? Is that a separate promotion or can I do that now with the Ipad I bought last week?
Not stupid. He's referencing something from over a year ago so you'd need a time machine to pay yourself back at 1.5x. Right now that's only valid on charities (for a limited time they had expanded it to other purchases such as groceries) so the only way you're getting a $1200 statement credit for 80K points is if you have $1200 in charges to a charity.

My annual fee just posted, literally today! I'll likely cancel the card in a couple of weeks.

I just placed an order and it actually let me use a different chase card (I used Chase Southwest). It now says that it'll ship in 8 weeks which is fine but just wondering considering the card will be canceled at the time the phone ships, will the order process?

So I have something like 600k points built up on a CSR and this thread makes me feel like I need a class on how to use them. Every time I check travel it makes more sense to just book and pay cash.

For example, for a one stop rt from Dallas to Rome in on BA in March tickets are cheaper than the cash fee alone for using points.

Are CSR points really better for using for things other than air like this deal?

Nonsense. Those Lowes offers are rare and when they come about you can buy any gift card you could possibly want (Visa, Amazon, Gasoline, etc.). Wasting that deal for a discount on an Apple Gift Card is not a fair comparison to this deal. A points expert like yourself should know better than that.

Also worth noting again that even if you were able to buy enough discounted Apple gift cards to buy your iPhone, you would be foregoing the credit card benefits such as extended warranty and purchase protection (which are valid if you buy with points).
The Lowes Amex offer was not rare as I had 5 of them on our Amex cards between me and my wife. The person ask me how it was possible to get 25% off and I told them how and it was just recently as well. Also visa gift cards you have to pay a activation fee so it's not worth it. I get phone insurance free from my credit card for paying my cell bill. Anything else?

Unless you have 4 wives you didn't add that offer to 5 different cards. And even if you did, surely you could have found a better redemption for 25% off $1000 in gift cards at Lowe's other than picking Apple, right? Maybe Amazon, gasoline, cell phone prepaids, etc.? Isn't that your whole point in this thread… that Apple isn't the best choice for your precious points? Move along.

There are ways to add same offer to multiple cards.

Sure, third party software that very clearly violates the terms of use of your card/offer. If you want to take that risk, you obviously can do that... I STILL wouldn't redeem that Lowe's offer on Apple Gift Cards even if I had it on 5 cards. Man, this thread is really digressing.

First off, whether it is really better is going to depend on your situation. Some people are points rich and money poor, others money rich and points poor, or rich in both. You can decide the best way to use your points for your situation and not let someone else's situation dictate yours.

Having said that…the one thing I would say to consider is time. It takes time to know which transfer partners to use and which ones have higher fees and especially availability. If you have time in abundance and 'aspirational travel plans' then using your points for trips would be an option. To aid you are dozens of website and bloggers who have dedicated years to homing their craft and can give you all you need to know about the 'best' award travel options.

If you don't have that much time and don't have the desire to jump into the hole of award travel…redemption for stuff like these apple products works too.

Do what works best for your situation and plans based on how much time you want to spend in effort in either regards.

i suggest transferring those points to travel partners. Hyatt is usually the default for Chase but I have seen 1000 to 1500 Marriott Bonvoy offer last month. Marriott rates are generally higher than Hyatt or Hilton but it's an option.

when Covid hit, they used to have 1.5x offers to pay yourself back for grocery purchases and those were nice.

I'd say then, do whatever will maximize your time. If paying cash and using your UR points for stuff gives you more time to enjoy life and relationships..do it.

If you just want to use your points regardless, to burn through your stash, use em and pay the fees. Or redeem for Apple products if that fits your needs too.

Worse case scenario, redeem for cash to pay yourself back after you buy your cash tickets. In any event, time is way more valuable so do what will give you more time.

Anyone think this will arrive before Christmas? I'd like to do the deal but really need it to come before Christmas. Out of curiosity, anyone ever get in contact with the merchant to understand why it takes them so long to ship? Is it something like they are awaiting payment from Chase for your order before shipping?

Yes, the Reserve and I suspect JP Morgan Chase card are the only ones with 50% bonus.
