If you have purchased any of these dressers or cabinets within the last 14 days at the original price, contact IKEA customer support and ask for a price protection reimbursment. As long as the purchase was within the last 14 days they will reimburse you. I paid $220 for the BRIMNES 4 drawer dresser on Oct 20th and since it was within 14 days they offered me a $50 refund (between the sale price and what i paid). If you have their family plan, it would be covered for 90 days. Very helpful if you got some of the more expensive items on sale.

I disagree. I recently bought a house twice the size of my last so I had a bunch of furniture to buy. I tried Walmart, Home Depot, target, costco, home goods, some local place, and ikea. Many pieces returned and I still have a piece from HD, Costco & Target. But I am most happy with my IKEA pieces. My house is now well over half IKEA. They just hold up with nice veneers and look great.

IKEA you can get a nice strong king bed for $700. Costco was like $1200 and was paint slopped, off gassing, low quality bed board swaying. IKEA does use a lot of real wood pieces but does use lower quality where it doesn't matter and I have no complaints from my 4 bedroom sets (Idanas, Hemnes & Malm). There are certainly very fancy places that charge $4k for a bed. I just don't understand the price when IKEA is so close at a fraction of the price. I'd rather add more to my investments.

Love to see people who overvalue "the construction" of a piece of farking furniture.

When you die, nobody wants your old stuff. It will be in the dump before long.

Your dresser doesn't need to be able to withstand a nuclear bomb. Ikea furniture is well engineered to do what it needs to do efficiently and scalably.

These are phenomenal deals. Hemnes especially is a high quality set with great hardware and a good look.

If you have a habit of shattering furniture in your house, go get treatment for your substance abuse, mental health, or psychotic violence issues.

You can use the money you saved buying ikea furniture instead of $$$$ handmade "antique" furniture that will outlast you to do that!

Bought one of these for my daughter and it was the worst to put together. I'm no Bob Villa but damn it sucked!

How are some of these normally $5-600 with all fake wood? I can understand the sub $300 ones.
Most of $500-600 ones are not fake wood. They are real wood not mdf, with exception to some of the larger storage ones.

I have put 2 8 drawer HEMNES for my kids and they are great for them. It's not my fav to put together because it takes about 4 hours to do but it looks nice and they are deep drawers. The top surface is large and great for them to display their legos. The grey color looks nice to me. The quality of the wood is a little cheap but between two young boys has held up and looks just the same as when I built it. Hope this helps someone decide if it's worth the effort to build.

Have had the HEMNES 8 drawer dresser and matching 6 drawer chest for over 10 years now, I do recall it obviously being much less expensive than these sale prices, but it has held up very nice with daily, heavy use.

My experience is the opposite..Ikea can be lower quality than many other flat pack furniture (at higher prices too) because it is designed with cam locks to be disassembled. I have purchased a lot of flat pack furniture and have gotten higher quality stuff from wayfair that does not use cam lock.

ikea also uses "sustainably sourced" wood which drives up cost. You can often find cheaper hardwood furniture for the same price as some ikea pieces.

How much is Ikea paying you for for this post?
What a disgusting comment

The person was giving reasons for the pricing. This was uncalled for

The dresser being shown as the image take about 3 hours to build with not so great instructions 😂, but I'm happy with it

You can tell it's still overpriced because a gladiator shelf is cheaper.

Not all of them are fake wood. Hemnes dressers are solid wood, I have several of them.
Second this - I had this exact dresser for 10 years and sold it in great condition.

Much better buying a used dresser because some poor sap spent hours assembling it.

Save an extra $40 on Friday by first buying some food (eg, the "rancid meatballs") and getting a coupon on the receipt (assuming a $150+ spend).
