I played 23 on Game Pass. 08 might be better unless you are interested in the Ultimate Team mode where they just want you to spend money on microtransactions. Franchise mode is arguably worse.

I'm just interested in playing a modern day Madden w/ updated rosters. 23 would feel weird playing as Aaron Rodgers on the Packers...

What is the big problem with this game? Can I just play exhibition games without issue? I'm not really interested in any of the dynasty things. Maybe play a "season" or something with my kid but that's it.

Last maiden I played was years ago… so much loading, even in the menus… and ads. Took like ten minutes to just start a single game, and it was boring to boot.

I'm holding out for NFL 2k25. 🤞🤞🤞

Thank you for the reminder that those of us already paying for Game Pass can just play last year's version as part of our subscription. Like most people here, I haven't played Madden in years because the game really doesn't change much and the cash grab became too obvious.

Can we still get updated rosters on the old versions?

I played this. I hated it and sold it on eBay. I went back to playing Madden 08 on my Gamecube and had much more fun.

Not official ones. That's the point of the annual release. You can download user-created ones if the servers are still active. The creators usually stop updating them once the new one releases.
