Yep. Bought this because I got tired of dealing with gas, transferring clothes, etc.

I was very surprised at how well it worked. But of course, temper your expectations.

You can't FULLY load it. And expect things to dry completely.

I do smaller loads, which is still quite a lot compared to my old GIANT Maytag top loading.

It's quiet, efficient and it's dry when it's all done. The app notifies when it's 5 minutes away from being done. And when it's actually done.

The clothes come out damp feeling but when you expose it to air, it just dries up completely. Weird. But true.

And the clothes are nice and soft. I think the best part is the 32oz of liquid detergent. I set it to auto. And I can do a decent amount of loads.

12-15. Depending on the clothes.

One thing…I did buy a dedicated small battery Ryobi vacuum It makes it easier to vacuum the lint after 1-2 laundry.

Remember. The cleaner the lint basket is. The dryer the clothes come out. So I've made it a habit to just do it every 1-2 loads.

Regular clothes don't produce much lint. It's the blankets, towels and bathroom floor rugs that do.

Just things to consider and think about. I've had it for about 6 months. I'm happy.

I considered putting a second one side by side to do more laundry. Since they do sell a Y site connector for the water intake. But…I'm happy with the one.

I ended up just putting full wall cabinets where the old dry er used to be.
This uses a heat pump to generate heat and remove moisture. So the drying effect is similar to the evaporator in your home AC system, in that it pulls moisture from the air and just sends it to the drain without needing to vent externally. Pretty neat setup, and the reviews I've seen online seem positive about the tech. It also uses MUCH less electricity than a standard dryer. Like 1/4 per load vs. traditional dryer with heating element.
If you are a first responder or government employee, GE offers a 20% discount through their website using ID.me. Their listed price is $2,199, but after the discount shows as $1,759.20 with free shipping (not including your local tax).

They do. Google Costco Price Adjustment policy (slickdeals.net redirect does not work). There is a form to ask for a price adjustment.
Thank you!!

I will be waiting for Black Friday. Also, remember the tax rebate that you may be eligible for as part of the IRA law. You may get up to $500+ back. https://www.irs.gov/credits-deduc...ax-credits
Fairly sure that there's no current tax credit for heat pump dryers. What you linked is in reference for HVAC air source heat pumps among other things. There may be rebates through your local utility or state, however.

I'll give the easy answer. High airflow over heat pump and dehumidification. It's much more complex than that, but it's basically a warm and efficient dehumidifier that drains to the floor like any other dehumidifier.
Exactly. And this one has the advantage that it is already connected to a water outlet so the water from the drying cycle will drain out there.

1) File with your tax return (i.e. 1040)?
2) There is no "washer/dryer" in this list, I doubt this unit would qualify as "heat pump", due to different purpose
The IRS page doesn't directly reference heat pump dryers, but rewire america does:

The biggest advantage to the combo is you don't have to transfer load. Which sounds minor as it only takes a min to transfer. But you have to consider the fact that you cannot go anywhere until that transfer is done. So you're essentially tied to the washer until you transfer. Right now I just set it and forget it. Complete game changer.

This new unit also addressed the lint issue of every other all in one combo units everyone's whining about. It's also ventless and it will save a lot of energy outside of the energy it consumes which isn't always counted. If you have a gas dryer, it is cheaper to run, but you're paying for higher AC or heating bill due to the vent exhausting all your conditioned air.

how many bath towels fit in a load? how long would it take to dry if it were only bath towels?
I can do 4 body towels and 2 hand towels wash and dry in 2.5hrs or so. Never tried more, but it can fit more towels if needed.

Something to keep in mind is next year there will be up to $840 rebates on heat pump clothes dryers due to the IRA. If you don't *need* it today, it might be worth holding out until January when the incentives kick in.

My electric company gave me 3 rebates totalling $240: Energy star electric washer, Energy star electric dryer, and heat pump dryer. It allowed me to triple dip no questions asked.

i'm a bit confused about this guidance. Inflation Reduction Act was passed last year, but these Home Appliance Rebates have been detailed only this year. where does it say this will go into effect on Jan 1, 2024? or is it already in effect now?...

also i read something stating that each State has to formally accept the Federal funding for these rebates before they can be awarded/passed onto consumers. if that's the case, I'm not counting on my Republican Texas state government to help its citizens out.

If you don't mind me piggybacking off of this comment, do you think it can handle a California King comforter?

Not an expert here but from what I've been reading these rebates only apply for households at/below 150% of the median income in your state. Still means most folks will qualify but check your state/area's median income to be sure you qualify before banking on this.

Yes, it looks like it is rolling out state-by-state, so YMMV obviously. IMO they purposefully delayed the rollout to 2024 for a certain reason best not discussed on this forum, but at the expense of making it more complicated. That being said, there is potentially $840 in incentives to be had beginning on January 1.
