Yep. Bought this because I got tired of dealing with gas, transferring clothes, etc.

I was very surprised at how well it worked. But of course, temper your expectations.

You can't FULLY load it. And expect things to dry completely.

I do smaller loads, which is still quite a lot compared to my old GIANT Maytag top loading.

It's quiet, efficient and it's dry when it's all done. The app notifies when it's 5 minutes away from being done. And when it's actually done.

The clothes come out damp feeling but when you expose it to air, it just dries up completely. Weird. But true.

And the clothes are nice and soft. I think the best part is the 32oz of liquid detergent. I set it to auto. And I can do a decent amount of loads.

12-15. Depending on the clothes.

One thing…I did buy a dedicated small battery Ryobi vacuum It makes it easier to vacuum the lint after 1-2 laundry.

Remember. The cleaner the lint basket is. The dryer the clothes come out. So I've made it a habit to just do it every 1-2 loads.

Regular clothes don't produce much lint. It's the blankets, towels and bathroom floor rugs that do.

Just things to consider and think about. I've had it for about 6 months. I'm happy.

I considered putting a second one side by side to do more laundry. Since they do sell a Y site connector for the water intake. But…I'm happy with the one.

I ended up just putting full wall cabinets where the old dry er used to be.
This uses a heat pump to generate heat and remove moisture. So the drying effect is similar to the evaporator in your home AC system, in that it pulls moisture from the air and just sends it to the drain without needing to vent externally. Pretty neat setup, and the reviews I've seen online seem positive about the tech. It also uses MUCH less electricity than a standard dryer. Like 1/4 per load vs. traditional dryer with heating element.
If you are a first responder or government employee, GE offers a 20% discount through their website using ID.me. Their listed price is $2,199, but after the discount shows as $1,759.20 with free shipping (not including your local tax).

Is there a decent calculator out there to compare operating cost of this dryer vs another?

Energy Star estimates 535 kwh yearly energy for this heat pump washer and dryer combo.
https://www.energystar.gov/produc...ls/2407727

For separates, the estimates are about 145 kwh for a washer and 608 for an electric dryer.
https://www.energystar.gov/produc...ls/2392619
https://www.energystar.gov/produc...ls/2381427

So that's a difference of 218 kwh per year. Honestly, I am a bit surprised at how small the difference is. So your savings in operating cost will depend on your local electricity price. If your electricity cost is 14 cents per kwh, the saving is $30 per year. There will also be savings from not having to condition the air that that is sucked out by a vented dryer. Though I doubt that'll be super significant if you have a natural gas furnace or a heat pump, maybe another $30 per year?

Based on this calculation, I would say that it's not worth it to switch to this combo machine if your only goal is to save money. The main benefits of this machine is being able to automatically run wash and dry cycle continuously, the space savings, and to better seal the house against uncontrolled air exchanges.

Thank you for the breakdown. If you look at the sales prices of those two items from Lowe's + the additional $100 off that combo comes to roughly $1,374. If you factor in tax it looks like roughly a $510 difference for the pair vs the single unit which would take 8.5 years to break even if you save $60 a year. Timeline doesn't seem too bad given the space savings, only needing a 110 outlet, not requiring a vent with the various benefits of that.

I think a lot of the negatives people are saying about this unit don't seem to understand what it actually is. Even if clothes are labeled do not dry I wouldn't hesitate to put them in this dryer. It does not get hit like a conventional one and won't damage clothes in the same way we are all used to.
Is that actually true? LG customer support says (in response to questions on Lowes and HD) that the dryer air temp is 160 degrees. Low temp on my conventional dryer is 110 degrees; 160 is equivalent to "high."

So my unit was making very loud metal screeching noises on the first couple of runs, but haven't done it since. Anyone else had that? Costco was willing to exchange but it's out of stock Frown

This will be my 1st and last purchase from Costco. They have either delivered dented units or the door won't shut. 3rd time, and still delivered a dented unit and now have to wait for 4th time, hoping to be lucky for the item I paid. Costco sucks. They should hire better delivery companies.

Are you in NJ? I had a similar experience. Costco has hired a 3rd party installer company who are a bunch of poorly trained Dominicans from Elizabeth, NJ. I doubt that this is the situation in other parts of the country but here in Northern NJ Costco appliance delivery and installation is very poor.
