Also with Walmart+ you get free flat tire repair and free road hazard warranty when you purchase new tires with installation..
typically the longer the tread life, the harder the tire material and not as comfortable
Numbers is tough.

Wow, cheaper than Falken that I replaced last month. Goodyear tires are better

Double check those good year assurance tires I think I saw them on discount tire direct and they had awful wet braking... The only assurance was death on a wet road.

Also, some Goodyear tires have parts of the tread only dug in through half the usable tread.. so once they reach 50% life they turn into drag slicks. Example: https://mainelyhobbies.com/wp-con...Photos.jpg

Don't know about the free flat repair but Ive always had to pay $10 for road hazard warranty with their online tires (shipped and sold by Walmart), not third party. Must be a + member thing I guess. How much is the + member membership?

Actually the "V" rated is for a higher speed (150 mph) rating than "H" (130 mph) , it does not necessarily mean it's a stronger tire, its the compound in the tired thread is better at gripping the road.

Now between the reliant line of tires and assurance tires, the assurance would more than likely be the "stronger" tire as they have more wear life, and a thicker sidewall.
Higher speed requires higher heat dissipation and stronger structure to overcome the additional rotational inertia. The V reliant is rated at AA vs. assurance AB. Sit on an unmounted V Reliant and H Assurance. The Reliant is less prone to collapsing (stronger shell/sidewall construction).

DOH, I already bought 2x Reliant back in May, I think it was a rollback to $90 for 215/55R17. And I got another 3x Kumho LX Platinum KU27 for $81. My timing was really off because the old Pirelli was dry rotting and they struggle on hard stop they wobble like crazy. I was not feeling good so I replaced them all. When it comes to look, I love Goodyear tires, these are USA made tire. Well, they're very sloppy made if you ask me but beautiful tire nevertheless. Performance wise, I love them. I will never buy Pirelli P7, Michellin Primary MXV4, and Bridgestone Turanza EL400 again due to ridiculous prices / terrible performance and I also avoid cheaper brands like the ones sold on Ebay, they don't brake ontime and they have higher chances of buckle, Of all American made tires, the Reliant have the fattest grooves measured at 10-11-11-10 mm which is about 50% fatter than Pirelli, Michellin, and Bridgestone. I take measurement very seriously because of the factory Bridgestone that came with my Camry almost gotten me killed while driving on highway 90 during a monsoon rain, the car hydroplaned on me. The Kumho is even better than Goodyear, measured at 13-11-11-13 making it them the FATTEST grooves of all season tires. They're made in S. Korea using latest technology. You can tell when buying tire, always pay attention to the DOT date (week of year then year when it was manufactured), it tells you when the tire is made. ALWAYS BUY FRESH TIRE BASED ON THE DOT!!! Whether you drive them or not, you can NOT drive tires that are past 5 years old. Pirelli stinx they don't make it past 4 years - avoid Pirelli. And secondly always stay away from tires that have yellow or red dots, those tires are manufactured from older technology. New technology do not stamp yellow or red dots so you can just mount anyway you like, otherwise remember yellow only dot means you align it to TPMS, if yellow & red then red at TPMS. I just don't like older technology, confirmed both Goodyear Reliant and Kumho LX Platinum Ectasy is made using newest technology. No - the bar code doesn't count. Btw, I do my own installation and balance, super easy but recommend if you are DIY'er, you want to buy tires made from advanced countries that are using latest technology. Always always remember to scrub rim bead area. Patient, it'll take a whole bottle of 91% rubber alchohol to clean them out. When you're paying someone to do it, they know you can't see so nobody bother scrubbing down gummed up bead for you. 1 out of every 10 tires reviews claimed to have experienced blowout, I'm guessing it was due to quick installation. When you do your own install, you have the the time so spend it wisely, slow is fast. Oh yeah so for the tire driving experience, Reliant is very noisy on old road especially over cement, they're LOUD!!!! The Kumho is SILENT. Both don't hydroplane and have EXCELLENT braking stop comparing to the other garbages I've driven. Both handle well under hard brake, I experienced zero steering wheel shake unlike the junk Pirelli. Straight out of the box, Reliant is measurement evenly at exactly 11/32 from left to right but Kumho has uneven spot man I don't understand Kumho's logic maybe this explains why they're SOOO QUIET - ugly tires but EXCELLENT performer. Oh and btw, another benefit of doing your own tires is TPMS sensor replacement. Including spare so that's 5 tires + 4 new TPMS sensors costing me under $500 with taxes. TPMS is where tire store gets you but I think I need to stop. I'm rambling here...
We have Kumho TA11. Exceptionally quiet tires!. My 195/60/15 V rated reliant is Made in USA. It's moderately loud on bad roads. Handling is excellent due to the strong tire casing and rubber compound. I mount and balance my tires. Why waste $ on TPMS at each tire when a good tire gauge works forever?

Based on wear rate, the reliant should last +60K miles. The driver and the weight of the car have the most influence on tire wear. Always check on build date on tire to ensure fresh rubber.

Why? Si that on an off chance you get extra tires? No
No, it's because they were a great price, they arrived quickly, and they overdelivered plus Walmart has some buyer protection policies

I'm having a hard time deciding between Reliant and Kumho Platinum Ku27. I need 205/55R16 tires, and the Reliant is priced at $59 each, while the Kumho is $70. Which one, in your opinion, is better for light to medium snow? Both tires fall within my budget range.

I did some research and also called and talked to my local Walmart Auto Center about installation. Reviews indicate the tire is overall a pretty decent tire with good winter light+med snow + ice performance. For the price it should be an excellent A/S deal. Reviews indicate tires are not the most quite but the Walmart auto manager I talked to said these are some of the most popular tires they sell and she has not heard any complaints about noise levels.

4 TPMS set runs around $40 w taxes from Amazon. Here in Los Angeles, it's not uncommon to drive over nail once or twice a year depending on new developments. It pays to be DIYer. You don't need to wait for store to open and if you paid for Wally customer service oh man GL. I used a lot of bad words just standing inline waiting to be helped. Here is pro tips, they ship free to our door but you must use an Android app. Iphone might work too but I don't have it. I wasn't able to use my PC to ship tire to my door, now I know ...never have to waste 2 hrs to pick up tires. They literally ran an entire background checkup on me lol despite I already paid for it. I just want to pick dem up lol. When buy tire online, always buy tires with the highest rating because this increases your chance of buying fresh tire. Otherwise, just go their store. Pick them up and checkout yourself. Never ever ship to store.

If you have never installed a tire before or don't have a garage to do the work. I'd recommend heading to the store, they usually have deal on Goodyear + free installation too so on this deal you're looking at about $150 saving over Kumho. I've never seen KU27 on sales. They're wonderful for those who don't want to wait for deals. And because it's a Wally special that is not carried in store, when buying online you're 100% certain to get a fresh DOT. If you have pretty car, stay with Goodyear it'll make your car looks aggressive. It made my old grandpa Camry looks like a Nascar while the Kumho side urghhh ewww disguisting but man oh man they ride fabulously. Kumho=ugly tires, excellent performer. Try not looking at it. And it's made in S. Korea using latest technology. Reliant and Assurance are made in USA.
