I'm running an E3 from 2014, and this is only like 15% faster. Also, I have 32GB ECC RAM. Seems pretty steep unless the mounting configuration is appealing to you. With 4x 1GbE ports this could be nice for a firewall, but the NICs in this box are not chosen for that usecase and are a poor match. As a little virtualized server with 3 extremely annoying 40mm fans, this just seems too expensive. All that said, if it were 100% fanless, I'd buy it instantly (but I don't think it would be $800 if it were fanless).
At this price , not worth it. The CPU has a passmark score of a bit above 8000. Plenty of much cheaper options with better performance and lower power draw. If you need to rack mount it - then just get a rackmount shelf for about $20-30.
Hopelessly outclassed by a modern i5 and ddr5 has on-die ECC now. Unless you really need the pcie 3.0 lanes, better bang for buck to go with an i5.
DDR5 doesn't have ECC on-die, and it is not a default feature of DDR5. There is still special RAM required for ECC, both unbuffered and registered even for DDR5.

ODECC is part of the JEDEC DDR5 standard. It is not the same as standard ECC but it is more correction than ddr4 had. If you have data critical enough that ODECC is insufficient, you arent looking at servers in this pricerange anyway.

Thanks for acknowledging that you knew you were posting misinformation when you posted it.
Over priced AF. Go to fleabay and many used from defunct startups with far more powerful specs can be had for cheap. Heck, I sold my Supermicro SuperServer pizzabox for between $100 to $250 after many years of service. While mine is older, but they came with 24GB RAM and OEM rails.
bad deal. a whole bunch of these sold on ebay recently for sub 200$. This was super cool hardware, like 7 years ago. You can do so much better for 750$

Also, it seems that even modern desktop CPUs are faster than this.
