I am in a similar boat. Looking for something to improve the sound clarity from low-end built-in TV speakers that can be "set and forgot".

Is it easy to use and operate? Some comments hear started that you need to use its own remote to change the volume. This would be very inconvenient.
If your TV has HDMI ARC then you can use the TV's remote to control the volume. You'd only need to use the sound bar's remote if you're using the optical or other non-HDMI ARC connection.

Thanks! That's what I thought. I thought I read a post in this thread that indicated otherwise.

Yes, the TV in question is a Hisense from Black Friday 2019 that has an HDMI ARC port.

I love my TCL 6 series, probably 5yo by now. Speakers have always been sufficient but then it's not my home theater. This was buy now and think later soundbar, probably return it. I was actually shopping for a higher end unit for my SONLY OLED htpc

This is better than the JBL 2.0 imo
Better sound quality and better price
Connected to 65" Hisense via HDMI ARC
Automatically syncs with TV remote
No issues so far

Edit: I compared this against the JBL 2.0 watching different scenes from The Equalizer 3 and this TCL wins on sound quality hands down imo. Currently watching Oppenheimer with the TCL and for $49 it is worth it for what it is.

Ok. Just picked this unit up as I have a 32" TCL on my patio.
The speakers in the TV are useless.

This unit was a game changer. I can fully hear my sports now. The little box provides enough bass. I would say as a casual, this was a no brainer and super glad I did it. Plenty loud. Plenty clear. A little bass for the music during commercials and transitions. I connected it via HDMI. If you're a casual. Looking for better sound without spending any real money. I think this is great.

5x better than the clock radio speakers that came on the TV.

The sound bar absolutely sounds better than using my tv speakers. It sounds good but it just does not get that loud, I am comparing this to the vizio compact sound bar I bought from target two years ago for the same price and to me the vizio speaker sounds just a little better and gets louder.

Definitely awesome price ... too bad it does not have CEC (hard to find at this price) or some type of remote syncing with TV remote ... hate using multiple remotes.

Anyone has this setup to connect to TV via Bluetooth?
I connected it to my firestick with Bluetooth. Had no issues with connectivity

I feel it gets very loud, and the bass is booming....muddied and overpowering. Couldn't turn the bass down enough either.

The subwoofer feels cheap and is the lightest I've ever had, even lighter than computer subwoofers.

Not bad for $49, but I think it was designed from the start to be a $49 Black Friday special given an identical-looking TCL model has a $59.99 suggested price on their website.

I had it connected via Bluetooth. I don't have a TV with an arc port, but would arc make it louder? I know it would make the quality better

Mine's hooked up through arc port, but I don't know whether that'd make a difference via Bluetooth. I know when connecting a phone through Bluetooth, you'd have to crank up the volume to max on the phone before doing the volume controls on the speaker itself.

Not a fan of the sound. Just got a Hisense 55" U6K. I actually prefer the sound on the tv than this soundbar. The soundbar's bass makes the speech sound so muffled. There's only 2 steps -/+ adjustment for the bass using the remote.

This soundbar sucks. The soundbar can't handle mid-range, so the mid-range is handled by the subwoofer, which results in actor voice blasting off the subwoofer with the bass. Subwoofer is also half a second lagged behind the soundbar.

Anyone else returning due to its size? I actually like the sound but it's way too big for my setup.
