Why would it have hdmi if no ARC? But even if no ARC, the optical wouldn't work a day later either.
Not sure what you are saying but... My lowly 32" TCL Roku TV has HDMI1, HDMI2, and HDMI3 (ARC) outputs. So I should be able to connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI3 port on my TV to a ARC port on a soundbar -- which the TCL documentation for this model says is not present.

can I use it as a computer desk speaker? I just need one as i dont want to wear headphone daily at home.
Go to a thrift store and look for Bose Companion 2 Series II or III computer speakers. I see them for $10-$15 relatively often in my area, maybe you'll get lucky. Pretty solid speakers.

This thing sounds like crap. The subwoofer is overbearing, muddled and the sound bar itself is compromised of only the highest of treble. The mid range frequencies are almost non-existent. You can't get decent mids out of a tweeter or a subwoofer, I wish manufacturers would stop trying. This will be the fastest return I've ever done.
I agree with you. I just bought it, returned and thought it was faulty. Got another one and sounded just as bad. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS IT SUCKS. In addition, I am a music producer and listen to heavy dubstep and the bass sucks

It works great with my TCL Roku TV over HDMI. Got this to replace my 8 year old LG that was optical only. Sounds alright after lowering bass on subwoofer a bit, not great but good enough for bedroom, and won't need soundbar remote anymore. The power on and off sounds are kind of annoying but might be able to lower their volume I was reading.
If you find it better to decrease the bass like me, you'll always need the soundbar remote because the bass +/- setting isn't saved upon power off of the soundbar. Only the sound mode (music/movie/dialog) is saved.

I received my soundbar 3 days ago. I was very impressed with the Walmart Home Delivery service, very quick. The soundbar was easy to set up and connect to my computer via Bluetooth (my monitor's built-in speaker stopped working). It automatically connects to the computer whenever I turn it on, which is convenient.

The sound quality is much better than the built-in speakers on my monitor. The bass is strong, but I did have to decrease it a bit because I don't like strong bass. Overall, I am very happy with the sound quality of the soundbar.

It looks great under my monitor, which is also black color. The only thing I would change about the soundbar is the way it announces its Bluetooth connection. The voice prompt is a bit loud, and I prefer a gentle chime. However, this is not a big deal.

At this price ($50), this is a great soundbar for casual usage.

Got mine. Total trash. The crossover is screwed up. The soundbar sends the subwoofer high frequency sound. You can hear voices out of it and very directional (you should not be able to tell where is sub is). Other than that the quality is cheap. Treble rebel out of the actual sound bar and boomy thin bass from the sub. Also looks like retail on the setup sb21bw is $49 so it's not even a slick deal.

I bit. I have a bunch of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BWXK1FL
(Majority Atlas)

That I got last year on a crazy slickdeal here when they were something crazy like $15. I wish I bought 100 of them!

Anyway, since people say that the bass and treble on this TCL unit are overdone/off balance and the Majority Atlas if anything does mids very well, I plan on pairing the 2 bars on an analog setup with a 3.5mm splitter on the bedroom TV (yes, good ol old fasion analog, no fancy dancy arc or optical) and since I run everything thu a HTPC I will tweak with Equalizer APO / Peace.

The living room has the real setup when needed.

Thanks OP.

While I dont have the unit yet I totally agree that you should not be able to tell where the sub is and it should not be getting any of the high frequency sent to it. I plan to keep the sub inside a cabinet that the TV is setup on (its kind of more like a dresser thing)

I got this for my GFs bedroom. Knew it was notngoing to be great. I tried the sub under the bed. That drove me nuts. The moved it near the TV and sound bar so it would at least sound like it was coming from the same direction. Did not help much. Tinkered with settings and stuff for another hour. Nothing would resolve it.

Hmmm. Well if it sucks as bad as you say it does Ill just take it back to a B&M. I go to one of 3 of them at least once a week. (went there today lol) Im on the west coast (took Walmart a bit to get here vs east south central) and I have like 10 of them within a 20mi radius of my house.

If you have tall ceilings this does not sound good. Bass is definitely not as much as some are saying here.
