The only deal in this price range they will have is the already posted HP Victus for $550.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-v...Id=6535505

Only big differences are the HP has the newer I5 (raw benchmark increase about 20% in cpu performance). The HP only has 8GB of ram so needs a instant upgrade to at least 16GB, which ram is cheap so increase the cost by about $30-40 for more ram. The CPU will make a little difference in overall tasks but in gaming the increase will be minimal from what I can tell.

Both good choices, but your probably spending an extra $100 for very little gain after RAM upgrade.

Just realized the MSI is the 3050 4GB version the one in best buy is the 3050 6GB version, which looking at benchmarks can get you in some games 5-15 more FPS so that takes a nice edge in being better overall.

Now the other option is the gateway with 3050 TI which falls between the two models of the 3050 listed above, and the gateway is $500 at Microcenter, also way bigger being 17" screen and with a i7 which seems like the sweet spot if you dont mind the larger size.

Yes, without a problem, I used the 3050 and was able to play a ton of steam games from the last few years with no issues whatsoever. The only thing you cant do with a 3050 is try to play a new Triple AAA game and turn the graphic settings on Ultra and expect it to work, I would say most newer Triple AAA titles low to medium settings to get good frame rates.

Is the one from Target today any good for $599? Less RAM but you get RXT 4050. Cheaper if you have Redcard and 10% off electronic or 10% off for veterans

Got mine delivered yesterday. Mostly happy with the purchase. The trackpad is super flimsy feeling though. I don't expect the trackpad to last with constant use.

I think its worth it if your okay with frame generation a feature on some games for the 4K series, even though I would prefer to see a 4050 at the lower end of the $500 price point. The 4050 6GB (guessing its a 6GB cause I dont think a 4GB exists) is a decent jump from a 3050 4GB and in some games gets 10-20% more FPS at 1080 which means a lot longer longevity for the laptop. In other games with frame generation can get over 30-40% more artificial frames. The problem is that this ram amount is pitiful so you will definitely want to double it up if not 4X to get 16 or 32GB, so in the end it comes down is the extra $170 worth the increases.

Cool video comparing some of the GPU's we finding in deals right now:

Thanks for the link. I bought this one. I hook up a portable monitor, so like DisplayPort, and wanted the 6gb gpu for machine learning.
