I purchased this tablet when it first went on sale last week - it came in on Monday and I've been messing around with it for the past few days. Figured I would post my impressions/experiences here for anyone considering the purchase.

TL;DR - Unless you're a power user (you know who you are), this is more than enough tablet for anything you would ever want to do with it. The hardware is great bang for your buck, and maybe impossible to beat at this price. However, the software modifications from Lenovo, as well as the limitations of Android itself, mean that true multi-window multitasking is still janky as hell, so I would not recommend it if that is something that is important to you.

-----------------------

In more words:

The hardware is amazing for the price. The ~13" display on this thing is great and actually offers a different-enough experience from using a phone to justify the tablet's existence - something that I don't really think can be said for the plethora of ~10" options at this price point. The screen is an LCD (not OLED), so there is color shift when looking at this from an angle, and even at the edges of the screen when looking at it straight on (due to its sheer size). However, when in use and not just pixel peeping, it's really not something I personally notice, and is a fair tradeoff for not having to worry about OLED burn-in (at least, for me). It's "only" 60Hz, but for 95% of users (and probably 99% of use cases for the other 5%), that's enough.

The processor, while maybe not top-of-the-line, bleeding-edge, is again "fast enough" for anything 95% of people are going to do with it (the other 5%, you know who you are), and happily powers through general tasks without any hiccups. The 8GB of RAM on this model is the real unicorn here, and makes Android and any apps you have run happily and smoothly. The speakers are also a real highlight, and sound great.

The cameras are... well... cameras, but I'm not sure that's actually something folks really care about on a tablet.

The software running on this thing is Lenovo's customized version of Android (called "ZUI," I think). It's mostly stock, but does include some pretty low-level modifications to how Android handles multi-window multitasking, including how you actually navigate the core UI (think: the parts of the UI that stay the same regardless of the launcher). It's meant to bring stock Android's rather opaque multitasking features more to the forefront and make them more accessible and easier to use. In practice, though, it means you have to use the tablet the way Lenovo wants you to use it, and anyone who wants to try and customize things will quickly find that stuff starts to break quite spectacularly if you try to disable features or revert back to a closer-to-stock experience. Using a third party launcher is just... not really an option here. So prepare to learn some new hoops to jump through.

Sadly, despite Lenovo's efforts, multi-window multitasking is still a VERY bad experience on Android. It legitimately feels like a hack to use it - and not in a good way. Apps do not smoothly resize AT ALL, and most really do not like non-standard aspect ratios. Even something as basic as Google Maps ends up looking legitimately broken when in a 1:1 window. I am honestly surprised by how bad it is still in 2023. For me, it's to the point where I will honestly just entirely ignore/abandon this feature and just use all the apps full screen, multitasking just by switching back and forth between apps using gesture navigation (quite smooth thanks to the processor and ample RAM).

I could say more, but I think that's the main points and I'm bored of writing already (lol).

If I was a younger man with more interest/time to burn, I would look into trying to get stock Android up and running on this thing to get rid some of the Lenovo ZUI features that I will 100% never use. However, I'm kind of past the point in my life where I can burn away weeks of my time sitting in a dark room with a terminal window open trying to get things "just right," so it is what it is.
First, your kid is spoiled
No kid needs a s7+ level of tablet

Second, this would be a downgrade from the tab s7+, not sure why you'd make this change
It is coming with the pen.

Does anyone know if this tablet is powerful enough to do PS2 emulation with PCSX2? I'm looking for feedback form someone who has actually done it.
I just got the tablet today and tried 3 games:

- GTA: SA
- Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal
- Jak 3

None of the games worked well at 2x resolution unfortunately. At 1x, GTA: SA and Ratchet and Clank ran pretty well with the Vulcan backend. Jak 3 was extremely laggy no matter what I tried unfortunately. I guess it's a game by game basis unfortunately.

Seems like a great deal. I bought a p11 pro gen2 last week for a bit over $300 (plus tax) straight from lenovo, I prefer the p11 since it has an OLED screen but to be honest I doubt most people, including myself, would be able to tell the difference between the OLED screen on the p11 and the IPS screen on the p12. I wouldn't even be shocked if people think the p12 screen is better although I don't have both so no clue.

Lenovo quality is pretty good, its really cool this comes with a pen as the p11s don't and they are hard to get now. I don't do note taking so not a big deal for me.

Lenovo software is very ymmv, this is newer so probably will be supported longer but the p11 feels like its been abandoned and the red headed stepchild Lenovo wants to pretend doesn't exist.

No headphone jack on p11 or p12, but at least they still have microSD cards. I bought a 1TB card and loaded it up with movies, shows, anime, and comic books from my Plex server so I am all set for offline usage when I am traveling next month, the main reason I bought it. Official app support is ymmv and wonky between HDR, Dolby Vision, resolution, etc but if you have your own media and install VLC everything seems to work great so far.

The other advantage the p11 pro has over the p12 is the 120hz screen on the p11 while the p12 is 60 hz, I'm not sure honestly I notice but I'm sure some people would.
All 5 P11 gen 2s I bought in the last month directly from Lenovo for my business came with pens.

So I have a question...

Based off of this info:

-no headphone jack
-no video output (USB-C port doesn't support video)

I wanted to see, does this tablet support USB-C Video INPUT?

I have a coworker that uses his iPad pro for a 2nd monitor for work.

My use-case/end goal is for two things:

-Cheap tablet, so when i go on flights that don't have a tv, I can play games on the tablet or watch movies on the tablet (Southwest, AA, etc...)

-I also wanted a tablet with a very large screen (honestly the bigger the better, but at a cheaper price point), so I can use it as an extended display to my laptop.

My work will NOT be paying for this, hence why I want as cheap as possible, in case it breaks during my trips for work. (They're very open however to new ideas... So if I can prove this is beneficial for our field workers, then it might be a normalized thing to get cheaper tablets for our work functions - We can use it to remote into our laptop so we can walk remotely and test from afar).

Did your "my orders" page actually reflect the order status to "shipped"? Mine shows an estimate delivery date of 11/14, but status still shows "waiting to be shipped". Confusing to have a delivery date before the item is shipped.

Also delivered via UPS?
