Exactly. I still have two from the dot-com bust that I bought off Craigslist - when the dot-coms shut down, the employees got to take furniture home as a consolation prize. Likely seeing another wave of that today.

I have a weird offer for you if you're truly from MN. I own both the Steelcase Gesture (Embody competitor) HM Embody, and the Staples Hyken. If you want to stop by Saint Paul some time you can try them out and see how you feel. I couldn't find anywhere locally when I was shopping that would let me.

Can't go wrong with the Embody. That will be my next chair. I didn't like the Aeron, the metal bar cut off circulation to the back of my legs when sitting on it.

Look, I really like my HM Aeron that I bought new roughly 20 years ago. Besides the usual adjusting and occasionally dusting, I've literally only had to buy one $15 hamstring pad off eBay for it in that time and it still seems nearly new to me. Zero complaints and worth every penny I spent on it.

But, with that said, as has been mentioned, there are lots of these available used (WeWork filing bankruptcy might only add to that total) so I'd definitely check out your options there first.

I went to an office furniture liquidation place last year and saw an embody that looked new marked at $100 on the floor. I told the guy I'd give them 50 bucks and he said ok. While helping to load it in the car he saw the bottom of the chair and noticed Herman miller tag…he tried to back out and I told him I would call police. It was pretty funny.

I own a Herman Miller chair and they make decent chairs. However, I can't in good conscience spend another dollar on the company with the current management knowing how their latest CEO treats their employees (became even more obvious by the CEO's viral video in April). Look up the latest reviews on Glassdoor and you will know what I'm talking about.
