With all that said, its good practice to only buy what you need/ can spend relatively quickly. You don't want them to get lost, stolen, etc. While they could stop any day, Staples typically offers this deal once a month for Visas and once for MC. Some Staples now offer a $500 Visas with a $5.95 fee so worst case you could load up on those if you're having trouble getting the $6k spend.
