But i think there will be better deals on black friday at other stores as well as Kohls. So am personally skipping on buying anything from this pre-sale.
technically speaking we are cooking with all three inside of this air fryer. there's a heating element that performs some radiation on the food above the fan. there is convection moving the air currents around, and then the air is actually touching the food and the vibrations are transferring into the food therefore heating it. you might know if you run ice under hot water it's going to melt a hell of a lot faster than if you just set it on a hot surface. it's because a lot more hot molecules are getting to vibrate off of those ice molecules, because they are moving past them.
it's the same principle we're moving hot air pass and therefore transferring lots of energy into the outer layer.
microwaves rely on entirely radiation, ovens rely on conduction and some small radiation.
The convection crisps and fries the food, otherwise it's an oven. The outer layer will be more crispy than an oven, and due to convection, it may cook the food slightly faster. note you make food crispy by drying it out. air moving past something dries it faster.
But because of the crispy outer layer, it's similar to crispy outer layers you might get from frying in oil, for say like chicken wings.
also because it can crisp the outer layer so much, sometimes you need to coat the food in an oil like olive oil, or vegetable oil to prevent the outside from burning. not to mention makes it taste more like fried in oil.
I bought the Clearview model and like the wider basket as well as the window/light feature.
