Any thoughts on if this will be cheaper on black Friday?

The prices only GO lower. These models are not selling. They have to push prices to move them. LOWER and LOWER! Even better if you have a World Mastercard that price matches for 120 days. Or some other price matching card. There are not many of them that do.

Is 8GB still enough nowadays in 2020s? If need to run an Android emulator.
Lol. 8gb. I have Imac pro 2017 with 128gb memory and I feel that's just appropriate. I also own a M1 macbook pro Max with 32gb memory and it's not adequate and sometimes it will just freeze in the middle of an action. 8gb, lol.

Everyone is complaining about 8GB. 8 GB is VERY MUCH enough to boot into the desktop, ok? Please stop complaining.

8gb is enough for watching videos, daily browsering, excel, word etc.
However it is not ideal for video editing, docker or simulator/emulator based software development.
I agree. Any video edition, 3d modeling, etc....... calls for a Macbook Pro with more memory

what kind of action? i m considering mbp for the first time in my life, have always been a windows user, but intel sucks

my 5 y/o intel i7 8550u with 32 GB RAM can NOT be used for trading, wtf... i use TOS app, and every day when the bell starts, the TOS app freeze, then anytime during the day, sometime it freeze. first i thought it was the RAM, so upgrade from 8GB to whooping 32GB, still same issue, then that means the cpu has issues.

if a 5 y/o intel cpu can't keep up with a single trading app, then i have to get the fastest available cpu in the market without compromising weight, and that only means MBP, cause if i buy a gaming intel laptop, that laptop is heavy to carry around the world.

That is really not likely to be generically the windows computer. It's quite possible there is something software wrong with your computer. It's maybe possible you're computer is under powered but even that I would be surprised by. Moving to the Mac may solve the problem but likely no more than a new PC would.

(edit to fix incorrect predictive keyboard errors. I really need to stop assuming my phone is going to guess the correct word)

Weird how plenty of people do it now with 8GB. You're speaking out of your a**.

8GB means 8GB shared between the RAM and GPU. It may all be fine in the beginning but, over time, the computer will require the SSD to do a lot of work, shortening its lifespan. It simply isn't worth it because, once the SSD dies, the computer is dead since you can't replace that. May as well splurge on 16GB or even 32GB if it's a work machine. All these reviewers talking about how well the machine functions with so little ram won't have it for years and years. You will.

thank you for your comment. i basically fresh installed the windows 11 and have not seen any virus/malware activities, so very likely it's the app.

if there is virus/malware, my pc is consistently 24/7 full blown fan, but once the trading hours is over, the trading app is working as normal, no freeze, so i m not really sure what's wrong other than the cpu and its age

i also have a desktop with the latest i7 13th gen cpu, and the app does not lag at all

this is why i m hesitant to buy mbp due to its ssd and ram integrated to mobo without any chance of replacing it.

but then i don't want to spend money replacing my laptop every couple years, so i m not too sure what to do here... to be fair, i use iphone instead of android, and my iphone last like forever, i still own iphone 6 (released 9 years ago) that can still be used today (although slow, but most essential apps can still run), and i m expecting a macbook would last the same time span
