Just to expound on this.

VA panels have better contrast, but worse viewing angles from the sides (image gets more washed out). IPS and ADS/ADS Pro which are related have worse contrast, so think lifted black levels, but better viewing angles. I've seen the 75" U8K at best buy and it wasn't impressive for contrast imo, it looks washed out compared to something like the TCL QM8, but it does have a ton of other benefits besides that. I'd say for LCD TVs the U8K in 55", 65", and 85" are the best choices out there today, but for 75" I'm not sure there's a winning LCD TV this year in the US, the U8K has poor contrast, the QM8 has horrible brightness tracking for HDR which destroys star fields and makes images inaccurate, and Sony didn't make a true new flagship 75" for the US this year.

Note that the 75" U8K has an ADS-PRO panel, all other sizes have VA panels. Most people prefer VA.

I would recommend researching ADS panels to see if it fits your use case.

I just noticed that Walmart is giving $50 in Walmart cash for the 85" & 75", $40 for the 65" and $30 for the 55".

U8 has a little over 1,000 dimming zones vs I believe 3xx on the u7. Depends what you want but the u8 will have very minimal blooming and be much closer to oled than the u7

Go for the u7, there's not a huge difference

There's a massive difference in brightness in u8 vs u7. People need to see the RTings measurements.

Where's the $50 "Walmart cash"? I don't see that.

The ADS panel btw is very good. Trying to evaluate a TV screen in best buy store lighting is as good as watching YouTube reviews to judge if a TV is great.

Costco gives additional warranty without any fee which could easily cost > $100 otherwise. That could be something else to consider as well.

Run and don't walk to grab this deal. That's an amazing price for an extremely well reviewed 75'' TV. Nothing comes close at this price point.
