I'd skip HyperX products at all costs, even for free unless you have really low expectations for example the volume knob not working. They make low-quality, defective crap.
I'd get the $40 dollar Sony INZONE's listed here, or the $30 JBL Quantums. The few extra bucks will be worth it, trust me.

I've had the opposite experience. I've owned two of these brand of headsets, with this being the one I currently use. They were inexpensive, have been reliable, and have suffered many falls and drops and come back for more.
I don't know what super expensive headphones sound like, but for me, the audio quality has been more than adequate - I have no problem identifying sound directions in games, and the reproduction doesn't feel muddy.
For a budget headset, both have more than lived up to my expectations. Just my two cents.
