They really need to make a 27 or 32 version that not a "pro".
24 screen is too small. 27 is the norm.

It's on purpose to get people to spend more

Same reason they don't come with a big screen iPhone SE

That makes no sense. This is 126% larger than a 16" display. In other words, over twice the size.

I have the studio display and besides videos there aren't many productivity flows that need that big of a screen.

How much extra would 16gb of RAM add to the cost of the product? $20?

Shameless company. I will never understand why Apple designs amazing chips and then puts them in handicapped devices. (Like putting an A15 into an iPhone SE3)

Yes Macs use 8gb more efficiently than a Windows PC, but the system will bottleneck on RAM long before the CPU is obsolete.

I have 64gb of RAM on my PC and I can routinely hit 32gb of memory use.

I wanted a base model until I realized it came with 8gb ram in late 2023, with a new M3 chip. I like Apple products but wtf. I'll be buying a 16" M3 Air and hooking up to a larger 27" monitor. I can justify a 2 in 1 style purchase. Smh apple are some cheap bastards.

For me on idle my m2 mini with 8GB uses 3-4 gb idle. Truth is 90% of people don't play games, and don't do heavy work. And for those people 8GB is fine. Do I think apple is very stingy. YES. Do I think 12-16GB should come with a base model. YES

I don't know what people are whining about. This product is for light home office work and college dorms. You can stick it in the corner of a bedroom or even plop it on a kitchen counter or table without too many people complaining about the size/design.

If you need something bigger and more powerful then this obviously isn't made for you. You would buy the Studio Display + Mac Mini Pro (or) Mac Studio. But you already know that. 🙄
