I want one very badly, but can't justify the use of micro USB
Yup. I had one and sold it. It's was a good keyboard, but definitely so many equal or better ones. This isn't 2018, or whenever it was released anymore. Software is BAD, keycaps get oily worn literally within few week, shows excess dust due to so much negative space, and the micro USB is intolerable nowadays.

Logitech has wrung this product for all it's got and I'm sure it was a gold mine for them.

I wouldn't recommend this for anything more than $99 (not even 100). If the software was smooth, then I could overlook other shortcomings. However, there's simply no standout features in 2023 at this price anymore.

I own a tactile g915 and love it. Bought 2. Recycle coupon has a limit 4 units per purchase, used a random crappy broken mouse I had around to get the coupon to use online coupon. They didn't have tactile in store.
I returned the clicky. Wasn't comfortable when I used it. Can someone that tried the linear and tactile comment if those are much better? Debating G915 or the MX S keyboard. Which is more comfortable to type in? Does the MX s keyboard have comparable Macro functions? Does it use the same software? Thanks.

I've been very happy with my G915. It looks great and has the low-profile key style. Keypress feels good and the clicking isn't too bad compared to some other mechanicals. I get about a week out of a charge with pretty heavy daily use. My biggest gripe is the micro-usb charge port - I don't understand how a high end gaming device in 2023 can possibly not have USB-C. Otherwise, I highly recommend the keyboard.

I went thru a phase of hoarding all different kinds of mechanical keyboards but I always come back to this one. The fit, finish, feel, and the low profile key caps are just spectacular
Have you tried the MX Mechanical variant? If so, was curious how you'd compare.

Keep in mind the G915 was released in 2019 (hence still micro-USB design) and is probably due to be refreshed. So this product is going on in Year 5 of it's product cycle and the lowered price reflects that.

I found tactile to be best for my use since it is not as obnoxious as clicky while providing adequate feedback. If comfort related to tilt and key travel is your issue, not sure if tactile or linear would be any better.

I have the MX Keys as well and it's a joy to type on. Key travel is short and sweet, but the key spacing feels more distanced/wider so may require some adjustment if you have smaller hands. The feedback is nice, though some keys may develop slight squeaks given the scissor/membrane switches. I kind of like typing on the MX keys more but that might be due to novelty after using the G915 for a couple of years.

I've found the MX software (LOGI+) to be slightly more polished, but that might be related to the intentional appeal to business professionals (vs gamers).

More macro features with the G915 since it has dedicated shortcut keys for gaming and onboard programming, but some function keys on MX Keys can be programmed using Smart Actions.

Keyboard enthusiast as well. This is actually my daily driver BUT the key caps aren't the best. I do type the fastest on this one with the least amount of errors. Micro USB sucks too but I only charge once every two weeks.

Have had the linear version of this keyboard for about 8 months now and really like it but the loose key caps were annoying (pick up the keyboard by the sides and shake it and you'll hear them rattle).

Did an O-ring mod which really helps remove the rattle at the expense of gaining a slightly cushioned feel at the bottom of the key press.

These were $130 direct from Logitech during the Prime Days specials. I'm hoping they dip back down during BF.

I did notice that the price of these fell on Amazon today too (probably matching BB).

Been wanting to get one of these for a while. Thanks for the great post, OP!

I have wired version (G815 linear), and I agree - it's the best keyboard I've owned.

The Razer DeathStalker V2 beats it in terms of my perception of its build quality (it has a more solid chassis and better volume scroller), but the superior ergonomics of the Logitech have kept me from switching over.
Been looking at this one for the past week. Nice that it's on sale now. Ordered from Amazon. I have a g910 and it just recently started being super sensitive on a couple keys. Looking forward to this replacement.

I have a Logitech keyboard right now I enjoy it very much but after doing all of my research on mechanical keyboards, Keychron is the best brand to go with. Right now I'm looking at the Q6 pro wireless. Hot swappable, USB-C, infinite macro settings, fully customizable and will probably last me 10 years. Hard to consider a Logitech now.
