Gen 1 is good. Gen 3 has much better chips. I'd assume same or better.

I've owned G1, G2, and G3 (i5). Currently typing on the G3 Nano. This one runs about the same as G1--which is pretty good. I set the processor to 99% on battery. Even at 100% max power while plugged in, the fan only goes crazy when I'm doing a ton of updates, loading up Premier, or installing a ton of software. But in my normal day to day work throughout the day I don't notice it much. Nothing like a M1, M2, etc. But it's really good. Performance-wise I would say this is as good as the M2 16GB Air that I had and sold. Very snappy. Much prefer the G3 to the Air for weight, matte screen, and keyboard. And no, this is not a shill. I use a M1 Max at home. Just don't want to carry around a brick in my back with my water bottle and whatever else I have in there.
