Series 1 (specs mention 2000 nits) although a great watch should be a bigger difference price wise versus the newer series 2

For the difference go for S2 but at this point I'd wait for Black Friday anyway….

Absolutely not worth it at this price. Series 1s like this are going for ~$500 on Mercari/ebay. Easy to find a discounted Series 2 for only a little more than this. Will drop below $600 as a BF deal almost for certain.

Still not worth it for that price, if you are going spend that much just get ultra 2. Or do what I did and get a lightly used ultra 1 on facebook marketplace for $400. Mine was in perfect condition and still has 100% battery life.

Was $629 recently at Bestbuy.
Even Target is currently $659 https://www.target.com/p/apple-wa...A-85973623
$679 definitely not a good price.
If you really need it NOW, Bestbuy has some open box excellent in the $580 range.
