I found out about Linux on laptop and I installed Ubuntu on all of my old laptops. That's why they are still working.
By the way, I am testing Asus Chromebook Plus CX34 this week. It comes i3 1215 cpu with 8G RAM and 128G storage. The RAM takes up 5.6G just by starting the chromebook and runining chrome browsers. Even Chomebook demands more than 4G of RAM.
It is the high requirements of OS that drive people to replace the laptop more often.
See below for the i3 configuration and price.
You can create a new yahoo email account to get the 10% code, but the expiration date is still fixed on Nov 20. I created one and saw it.
Perhaps Dell set a fixed date on batches of the 10% code.

UBB C port only applied to 3520 certain models.
From the specs by Dell, there are two configurations of the USB ports.
1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 port (on systems configured with Type-C®)
2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (on systems configured with non Type-C®)
Always a risk with the Inspiron, consumer based laptops. Which is why I'd recommend finding an equivalent Latitude from the Dell refurb store. One can snag a pretty good deal with the occasional 50% off coupons and such.

But then there are risks with refurbished laptop.
My refurbished laptop has USB connection issue. In addition, recently after I upgraded the hard drive to 1T ssd, I often get blue screen error in Window. The solution is to restart and hope it won't trigger another blue screen.
A $220 laptop ($52 more for 32G RAM; $35 more for 1T ssd) with backlit keyboard, touch screen, USB C port with power, and expansion of memory is too good to be true, because it might come with occasional blue screen.
I have not had time to figure out the exact cause. Maybe some outdated driver.

If the refurb dell was going perfectly stock, but BSOD with aftermarket parts.
