Getting a disposable Google Voice number for the port-in is really simple and will cost you only $3. Here's the step-by-step from the Pixel 7 Mint deal in March of this year, which also required a port-in.

1 - Pick a Google account you own that doesn't have a GV number linked to it (or create a new Google acct)
2 - Go to voice.google.com and log in to that Google acct. I prefer an Incognito window here to make sure I'm only engaging with the preferred account.
3 - Select a GV number... I used my home area code and perused the list of available numbers, settling on one that looked good.
4 - Select it, verify it by using a mobile or landline. (see note on this below)
5 - Really important.... set up a PIN!!! Settings > Voicemail > Enable Call to Listen > Enter a PIN
6 - Unlock the GV number so it can be ported: Settings > Account > GV Number > click UNLOCK
7 - Pay Google three bucks
8 - Wait for confirmation that the number is unlocked

Then at Mint:
Phone # is the GV number
Account # is also the GV number
PIN is the PIN you set up in Step 5 above.

The important note from Step 4.... the phone you use to verify here (via text message if you're using a mobile or via a phonecall if using a landline) will be DISCONNECTED from any other GV number you may be using and will be linked to the GV number you're creating here. When you finish up all of this and have successfully ported in to Mint, you'll want to go back to whatever prior GV number you have an re-link that mobile/landline back where it belongs.

EDITED TO ADD: Added this info to thread wiki.

I want to dispell the rumors now. It's locked to mints T-Mobile since they took over in April. Prior the 7 and 7 pro deals were unlocked prior to the takeover. These are 100 percent locked

Yes the US Mint can be shutdown. No point in printing when eggs are like $5

Do I need to use the Mint mobile SIM with the same phone or can I use the SIM on a different phone and then use my existing AT&T SIM in this new phone?

Yeah...this is confusing. I am a current Mint customer and it looks like I can just buy this and put my sim in it no?

I don't see where it asks for a port. I would just be wasting the $90 on a line I never activate or use correct?

looks like a good deal. any insight on 7 pro vs. 8pro? i have the option to buy 8 pro for $300 from spectrum. but this plan seems better, if not big diff 7 pro vs. 8 pro, as it includes a 12 month plan
Used the 7 Pro for a year and just upgraded to the 8 Pro. Get the 8 Pro for a much better display, flat screen and better battery life. Android 14 update did seem to help battery life on the 7 Pro but I didn't use it long enough after updating to get a good feel. 7P is a good phone but I'd easily recommend the 8P over it.

I am currently a mint mobile customer and had jumped on the last unlocked P7 deal. Is there a way for me to grab this deal considering i am already a mint mobile customer and this deal is for new port-ins only?

I really wish they would offer 256gb versions. 128 is just not enough storage for me.

New Mint phones come in retail box. And Mint isn't one of the major mobile providers so no way Google is giving them a special SKU. These will come unlocked

Likewiae, I have used the Pixel 7 Pro for a year. What is the cost to upgrade to the Pixel 8 Pro?
[I bought my handset unlocked from BestBuy, and am currently using it on a T-Mobile Account, but am open to switching carriers...]
