I have a ton of the ideal, and while fine, they're not Wagos. It's too easy to remove the wires just from wiggling them side to side. So when tucking a bunch of wires back into a tight box, I always have a fear that the push in connector came loose and my wire isn't secure. I much prefer the lever action of wago. Not to mention, stranded wires and the Ideals are extremely tough if not impossible to use together. But you can use stranded with Wago no problem.

Oddly enough, in most of Europe wire nuts are not allowed or avoided like the plague because they are awful. They use screw terminals or Wago-type connectors almost exclusively.

The Wagos are great if you have older wiring and smaller boxes, easier to fit than a quality wire nut and doesn't add strain to sheathing that's already on the verge of falling apart. These 2 wire are great for extending the old wiring (that's always too short by modern standards) with pigtails but the 3 wire I think are the most generally useful. Anything beyond that I'm wire nutting, personally.

All the methods have their pros and cons and are better or worse in different situations, and most importantly can all be done wrong.

Yes they are larger. The 600s are not replacing the 400 series as a newer version, they're just a different product that offers different functionality.
I keep some in the kit for when I'm working with 10 awg but otherwise the normal 221-4xx are the way to go.

Wago's are awesome, I've been using them for years now.

It's just a much more full proof, flexible, and reusable electrical wire connection.

Other than price there's absolutely no reason to still use wire nuts.

I'm in the same boat. I have more use for a 3-wire connection. Most of my applications are 3-wires. I don't remember if I had ever needed a 2-wire connection.

Do these get too bulky in outlet or switch boxes? Especially if you have a lot of 3 way switches or dimmers?

Those have been around for a long time, and if they were as great as you claim, they would have taken over the industry, but they haven't. What Ideal has now is a true lever wire nut to compete directly with Wago. https://www.lowes.com/pd/IDEAL/5014013115

Been using these now for about 5 years and have used the 2,3, and 5 wire versions to make household repairs/updates, build and wire a workshop, and install countless lighting and fan fixtures with friends and family. These things are a total game changer for me as a DIY-er. VERY easy to use, safe, and easily fold into wiring boxed without any issues.

Unless I can help it, I'll never use another wire nut again. And if I didn't already have a 50 pack of these from a previous deal, I'd be all over this.

Ya, you would only need it for extending wires like sone said or the very end of a run. I would rather just use a 3 wire connector at that point than have 100 of these. Ahlgain, I absolutely love and trust Wago though.

Didn't know these existed, but just this weekend I had to work on a ceiling fan because the wire nut had disconnected. I don't think I want to stockpile this many of the two wire, but I will be picking up some the next time I do any electrical work.
