Personally, I thought this fight on top of a moving train was slick since it was (apparently) done on an actual moving train and shot in the day, as Cruise likes real action. I think you're referring to the ridiculous CGI-fest masquerading as Indiana Jones 5 where the phony train fight was shot in the dark to hide the moving train CGI.

That should be around this time in 2025, maybe 2026.

Love this movie but I'll wait til it's below $9.99 the MI movies go on sale year round
I mean… it's on sale for $9.99 in 2015 dollars right now… (really. Look it up.)

With as out of control as inflation is these days, for all we know, $10.99 might become the new $9.99 before that happens. If auto manufacturers have raised their prices (done away with incentives) to cover their new auto worker contracts, is it really such a stretch to think that movie studios won't do the same to cover their new writers and SAG-AFRA contracts?

Ghost Protocol is my favorite movie. This is the first one I didn't like. They are forgetting what made these movies popular in the first place. Either that, or they're saving the good parts for the second half.
Yup. I saw the movie last night, it was so bad.

I could never really get into Fallout, something about it just made segments start to feel "too long".

Ghost Protocol I can put on any time of the day, and Rogue Nation is enjoyable as well. The first can also be watched any time.

this one felt a little too ... through the motions at times? There's been "Tom Cruise loves riding motorcycles" consecutively for so long now and this one had to have two?

It also really felt like it was just teasing you the whole time going "there's gonna be a part 2, so we'll explain then" and unlike Across the Spider-Verse, which was for all intents and purposes self-contained enough while also leaving you with a satisfying "get hyped for part 2" (like Empire Strikes Back) this one totally went "you get nothing, now wait for a while"

Tom Cruise is still enjoyable in everything he does (watch Collateral if you haven't, btw) but this felt a little too "have to do these set pieces and action sequences because it's 'what we do' now"

That said, worth a watch but I wouldn't give it more than 5 bucks until the actual conclusion and explanation happens.

They recently announced that the next in the series won't be called "Dead Reckoning: Part 2." Silly but apparently true. They may still offer that bundle and they'll definitely offer the complete series at some point. Just FYI.
Do they have Microsoft's marketing team writing the titles?

Yeah, I'm over all the magical face masks that look perfect. It was creative the first time they did it 10 years ago but in this movie I just cringed every time.
I have some very bad news for you.

Well at least the consequences of that fight were realistic.

Few people would agree I think with the exception of this I think mission was one of a few series that got better with each film.
I love this whole series, even 2. But I can see how someone could be disappointed in the direction the series went after 1.

All these new releases follow same pattern and eventually go on sale for 9.99 within 2-3 months of release if you really want to wait that long.

This movie was too dialogue heavy and boring and unnecessary long takes of Tom cruise running more than usual. I am not sure how it got such praise from everyone.

Real or not it's still wildly unoriginal.

I love the whole series too (but MI:2 doesn't exist for me). And the original TV show. The first movie is more or less exactly what I'd expect a movie version of the show to be, twisty backstabbing plot aside.

From 2 on they became stunt-driven action movies. I really don't mind that as long as they were SMART. You have to realize, the first one worked in spite of its lone fight scene being Tom Cruise nearly getting his ass kicked by Jon Voight(!)

Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation are the sweet spot for me. You have all the fun of the high risk missions on top of peak Tom Cruise Nearly Killing Himself for Our Entertainment. The Burj Dubai stunt is cool partially because it's part of a well-plotted, tense and exciting heist.

Now all we have left is the backstabbing and the action, very obviously arranged to support Cruise riding a dirtbike off a cliff, which may have been really dangerous but on screen is kinda ... whatever. At what point does Ethan Hunt amaze us with what comes out of his brain? The entire movie makes less sense than the "[email protected]" scene from the first one.

I can't complain. I thought Fallout ended in a good place for everyone so I still have 5 incredible movies I can watch over and over again. If they do more Mission Impossible it really should be a reboot of the TV series with an ensemble cast.

I decided to buy it instead since I realized I don't really care about saving $7. But you can always take a course in reading comprehension or English if you need it.
