So for the noob question but does a 8 ft ladder mean u can get as high as 8ft from the ground meaning the ladder is 8 ft tall?
I am looking for something I will be using to get into the attic, room height is 8 ft.

Ladder is 8 ft in length. May be a few inches shorter than 8 ft when fully opened but not much.

Look over your ladder closely if you buy one. Mine was damaged. Store had one replacement and it was even worse.

This! Picked up ours and it has three different gouges in the fiberglass. Even worse, they covered up the biggest one w the label.

Definitely pick through them. Luckily my store had four... The first one I looked at seemed fantastic until I turned it around and saw that the fiberglass was completely delaminated
