Same, I bought mine on Costco online for 119 also. Bought mine 10/22. I went to the Costco app, it was thru checking the previous order and clicking return/exchange and there was an option for price adjustment.

If there's any metal on the places you want to clean, you don't want to use hydrogen peroxide as it's highly corrosive to metals.

However if it's just plastic it should be fine.

My partner just got IO7g and the battery lasts about 10 days compared to 20 days on my 5 year old Sonicare.

You are comparing Apple to Orange. the spinning Oral B rotation consumes more power that just Sonicare vibration.

I just bought the Oral B iO series 4 for $35 with four smart modes. Series 5 has super sensitive setting for fifth mode. Lavender the only color available at this price.

The difference between the heads is much more than just a slanted base vs straight base. The IO is based on a magnetic driver with a magnet inside the head and in the handle from what I understand. The engineering and design is different, which allows the IO to do a much better job than the old oral b at cleaning away plaque. They are 2 completely different systems.

I'm sure oral b profiting is more from the new system. However, it is a much better product. Same goes with other products that have innovations. To some those innovations are worth more or less. To each their own choice.

I have tried several models of Sonicare and every one neutered the brush when it sensed there was too much pressure. I found it difficult to "glide" over my teeth at a steady pace with them. The newer Oral-B brushes I have tried do light up red when it senses too much pressure but it doesn't neuter the vibration / rotation. I feel like the Oral-B head is easier to use over the flat inside / outside surfaces as well.

One other thing to keep in mind is these new Oral-B iO series brushes vibrate like Sonicare and spin like OG Oral-B brushes. It's like getting the best of both in one brush. As for the cost of the heads you're talking about a few $$ a month difference so I wouldn't let that sway me one way or the other. Just get what you prefer and use it properly and either one will do a great job to clean your teeth. After all the cost of whatever you get is A LOT less than dental repairs.

Edit: Forgot about the mold part. Yeah, it happens if you don't DELIBERATELY clean the head regularly. I take mine off after each brushing and shake it side to side under the faucet on high then shake out as much water as possible. When not in use I leave it disconnected to air dry. That seems to do the trick.

To those who owns this, how bad is it?

I've been using an io7 for a few months now. It seems great but the holes are gross, just like the guy said. I don't notice the gurgling noise he mentioned.
