sold my ender 3 because i got tired of the endless tinkering. it's fun for a while but when you just want to set it and forget it, you can't trust creality, when it works, it works great. waiting to see if bambu labs has a back friday sale on the p1s

I have 3 creality printers and at least one is always jacked up. Frequently 2 out of the 3 have issues I have to deal with before I can get a decent print. It just gets so frustrating that often I'll just take a weeks long break from 3d printing altogether. These prices are really tempting but I just don't have it in me to keep fighting with creality.

Yeah, that's the in-store price to drive traffic. Great printers. I've had one since the second batch, and it's worked flawlessly. My 3yo daughter has printed test prints from the SD card via the touchscreen with no issues. The only thing that needs upgrading is the polycarbonate build plate. Things stick too well. I went with a Wanbam PEX build plate, and it's awesome.

How can you tell if the unit is from the updated batch?

Anything in the sales pipeline should be upgraded. Creality did several rolling upgrades in the first few months. Had a friend buy one last week at MC, and it had all the upgrades. You should be good. đź‘Ť

Apparently, the newer versions of both the K1 and K1 Max are supposed to be much improved compared to the initial release versions. Creality seems to be basing their business model after A+ video game developers, wherein they rush a half-assed product to market then eventually update it and get everything working properly later down the road.

This deal seems pretty good honestly. The hardware seems highly capable and any issues can likely be worked out if you have the patience for it. The K1 looks to punch above its weight if you get a good one but it also probably doesn't have quite as polished an out-of-the-box experience as the newer Bambu printers. However, the closest comparable Bambu printer is the P1P which is $600.

If you're OK with the idea of having to tinker and troubleshoot some issues, for the money, this is pretty solid. However, if you want a 100% "take it out of the box, press print, and get a perfect result" kind of experience, I don't know if Creality is the way to go for that.

even with ABL you are getting issues? (assuming youve got that on at least one printer)
