I think it will be $20 cheaper, in about 7 years.

When I said "it is overpriced", I got almost 30 downvote from slickdealers last week.
Micro center is aggree with me and reduce the price in a week. Many slieckdeals users are more royalist than the king.
Tim won't give any stock to Apple lickers, don't push yourselfSmilie
By reduced the price you meant by $40?

This would be tempting if the HD was 1TB

Picked one up today. With the m3 benchmark numbers coming out this is a great deal.

Will it go any lower? Microcenter only has a 15 day return policy .

Don't want to pick up one early and unable to return when a better deal shows up before it
Bought mine through Amazon, Woot electronics for 1399.99 3 weeks ago with a 1tb hard drive. Spilt coffee on keyboard accidentally and have been offered a refund coz of a 90 day return policy

Just picked this up yesterday. It's my first Mac ever. Have always been a windows person. Favorite feature is being able to respond to iMessages on the laptop. It comes in the sealed white certified refurb box. Battery health is 100%. I'm considering adding AppleCare+. Any advice?

Do you regularly take it on-the-go where it could be dropped, catch some spillage, etc? AppleCare+ is good, but relatively expensive compared to your purchase price. These Macs are very reliable and I wouldn't buy AppleCare+ for some kind of potential hardware failure.

I mostly work from home but fly every couple of months. Maybe you're right and I don't need the Applecare+. So far, the machine seems super high quality. A bit step up from my LG laptop. But I miss the 2.5lbs weight.

Got it to work. Just took a little time on the phone + updating the purchase date on their warranty check website.

I bought two of these to replace some aging Intel MBPs. I've been using this exact same model at work since it came out -- so knew what I was getting into. It runs circles around my Intels.

This is really the sweet spot right now if you want a reasonably priced "primary" laptop. There are some other deals out there with the M2 or M3 sales going on, but they force you to compromise with either 8GB RAM or 512GB memory,

FWIW - I currently use the M2 Pro equivalent for work these days (heavy coding and statistical processing), and can't tell too much of a difference vs the M1 Pro.

You have 60 days within the purchase date to decide whether to buy AppleCare+.
Here's my 2 cents. I bought the base model of this laptop from Woot in late April. It was a sealed Apple refurb in the plain white box.

I kept the laptop at home at my desk. No food or drinks around. 2 months later the keys randomly typed by themselves. It was bad enough that I sometimes couldn't type in my login password.

I brought it to the Apple Store, showed them the video I recorded and they sent it off to have the top case replaced. I picked it up 2 days later. It's been 4 months and no issues since then. Luckily this was covered by the regular 1-year AppleCare warranty.

If you regularly travel with it or bring it to cafes where there's liquids around I think AppleCare+ gives you peace of mind.

Here's how I rationalized the price. The 3-year AppleCare+ plan for this model is $279. $30 cheaper if you're a student. The cost Apple charges to replace the battery on this 14" model is $249. If the battery health drops below 80% within the 3-year coverage period Apple will replace the battery for free.

Thanks. A lot to think about. I've never spilled liquid on a laptop but that doesn't mean it won't happen. I'll take the whole 60 days to think about it. Maybe score some apple giftcards on Black Friday.

You can check how much time you have left by going into System Settings (the gear icon) > General > About.

It should be 60 days from your purchase date or activation date? Not exactly sure. Contact Apple if it's off. They can update it with proof of purchase. Still check your dates as you should have 1 full year of standard AppleCare.

Also when I bought the 3-year AppleCare+ coverage for my MacBook I wasn't able to pay for it with my Apple gift card balance. It only gave me the option to use a credit card. I called them and they said the same. So I'd contact them beforehand to make sure.

PS: Compared to Windows, macOS window management sucks. There's free apps like Rectangle that fix this. If you miss Alt+Tab in Windows there's a Mac app by the same name that brings that feature over.
