Rei is financially not doing well… so they are having more sales more often to get their prices (while on sale) to be close to competitors. I usually wait to get something close or slightly better price at rei via say backcountry just because I can easily return locally and have a year to find out if the item sucks or is good.
Also, their website database has been super flaked out recently with many items not in stock but allowing purchases and no updates. So if you don't see an update on your order right away call in to see if it was cancelled or backordered

edit: someone else says it subsequently worked for them, so don't let me dissuade you from trying! (wouldn't have been enough for me anyway, but still)
That's actually what I used my coupon for. Took out $45 off. $180+ tax.
just re-order. it's the way the stores select to ship out the items and then find out they don't have it. if you re-order you will get it from another store
