Get the extended warranty of some sort if possible for the battery, even if it through a 3rd party like Asurion. My 5ah battery for my self propelled started having issues 1 year after purchase with minimal light use. Sometimes it reads full and won't charge but it's actually dead. Then I have to take it off, put in a blower, run it for like 3 seconds until it dies, and then back on the charger and hope it reads correctly. Rinse and repeat numerous times until it works

The EGO batteries have 3 year warranties for residential use. If you got it somewhere like ACE Hardware you can walk in and they will swap it for you right there.

I agree that the biggest issue can be battery longevity. I have a 5 year old 7.5Ah EGO battery and a 4 year old 5.0 Ah battery. The 5.0 started acting up last year, but unfortunately just outside the 3 year, and the 7.5 is still working, but it goes from full to dead in about half the time as it used to.

I am hoping their newer gen batteries last longer.

ditched my '16 era ego mower (and trimmer). They didn't "cut it" like a $300 gas mower from Menards. I had so much mulch built up over the years from the mower's lack of power, lack of suction, which forced me to dethatch three times since '16. I really should have done it yearly but i'm lazy. I had 2.5 AH battery die in about a year in the trimmer, and a 7.5AH for the mower is acting goofy on its way out.
No thanks. Ego batteries are ridiculous priced. also the plastic snowblower I bought didn't hold up to the cold and the chute seized and broke on me. The trimmer was an absolute PITA to load twine into.
Every time it ran out, which was like every fourth mow, I sighed an exasperated groan out loud. I'll stick to gas devices - thank you. Yardmaster gas mowers, Stihl chainsaws, Echo trimmers etc. Those last for decades if taken care of properly. Ego, for me, was an expensive venture into cheap disposable plastic throw away equipment.

Interesting. I could have sworn I read it was only 1 year when I looked last time (but looked it up and confirmed what you said). I never registered the battery and thought it said something about having to register it as well

$549 within two hours of op posting. Did anyone actually see it at $419?

FYI the 21in with 6ah battery is $399 at lowes now. Regularly $449

Also dead for me. I was waiting to jump on an Ego mower deal, but recently my 6 month old Ego blower (which spent 4 months unused this winter) just up and died and the only way to get the warranty repair is to take it to an authorized shop 1 hour away that's only open weekdays during working hours. So my blower will probably never be fixed and I'm sour on Ego right now.

Delivers 6.0 ft-lbs of cutting torque for performance that exceeds gas lawn mowers. Lol. Mine is 7.25.

My understanding is the registration requirement is only for commercial use. I found a diagram somewhere on their site that showed the same. Residential use is three years, full stop.
