The complaint is silly, maybe they were joking? But that being said, it isn't uncommon to have a 25th day for a "big bang" on Christmas day. Somewhat a more recent trend.
Nothing is as bad as Tony's Chocolate Advent Calendar ($20) a few years ago that included 22 chocolates, with empty doors, as "a great conversation starter for change" to "to highlight inequality in the [chocolate] industry." Which went down like a lead balloon. Wound up having to issue a public apology, while implying any adult upset is neurodivergent.
PS - Tony's is actually great chocolate and their corporate ethos is fantastic. Just poking fun at a misstep.
