This is a very good drive. Been using it for 6 months and no complaints. Haven't had any issues with any of my 8 SK Hynix/Solidigm drives (various models) I'm using in various computers.

Be aware of potential warranty issues. SK Hynix at least was known to have essentially non-existing warranty process, meaning it's very difficult to get issues resolved. I don't know if this has improved since they acquired Intel's storage division (and created the new Solidigm brand). Take this into account. Personally, I would never send in a failed drive, so I don't care. If it fails or arrives DOA I personally will return it to the retailer while in the return period. Just something to be aware of, maybe someone with more recent experience with their warranty process can chime in.

I also have 2TB SK Hynix and happy with it 1.5 years in

As for warranty claims I once had an Intel SSD fail and get stuck in read only mode. They wanted me to return it but I had a bunch of financial documents on there.

In the end I never claimed, it made me realize if you have sensitive info SSDs effectively don't have a warranty anyway.

(I suppose I could encrypt the documents but that comes with its own drawbacks)

Thanks.
Running three of these in an Intel NUC 12 Extreme for the past few months, two under Raid 0 as an experiment, and they've been flawless. The third is just being used as a scratch drive/backup and has a lot of writes also no problems. Having been a Samsung person for so long, I'd still go with the Solidigm right now, I like the software suite better than Magician honestly and I just have a better feeling about the long term lifespan of the drives. With the custom driver they're just blazing.

2 of these SSDs in RAID-0 must get really fast read-speeds - did you ever benchmark it?

Custom driver? From manufacturer or 3rd party?

This or the Nextorage 2TB deal at Newegg for 97.99? Both are fast drives, but I am not familiar with Nextorage.

Raid 0 for drives this fast looks insane in synthetic benchmarks (I was getting 13-14k Read/Writes) but as far as noticeable performance gains, I would rather not take up the resources.

The Solidigm Synergy driver is what turns on the gas. It comes packaged with a tool kit.

Are you using intel VMD on both p44 pro and 990 pro drives? If yes are you getting the 7500MB/s sequential speed on the 990 pro that Samsung claims? I didn't seem to get that speed but on the p44 pro I did. I wonder if it is possible to run the p44 pro on intel vmd and 990 pro on Samsung nvme controller.
