From experience, do yourself a favor and get a multitool with a quick change blade. If you use the tool more than once a month, you'll be glad you did.
It's less for changing the blade and more for changing its position, which you'll likely be doing constantly.

You are overblown it, changing the blade or tool don't take that much effort.

Cutting with a hand saw doesn't take that much effort. <-- that's how you sound to someone that goes through blades on a job. That little allen key is dropped or vibrated out onto the dark ground and you'll be so aggravated that paying the difference for quick change will have been worth it.

They both aren't bad for the price. I have cut down a fallen tree with the recip saw in a pinch (10" blade, trying to clear a trail) since it's more bike portable than a chainsaw. Also great for cutting roots where any other tool would ingest a bunch of dirt and die. Brushless wouldn't get as hot and would likely have more power/nicer features and quality. Diablo blades are your friend for both tools.

IMHO you're spot on. The brushless not only has extra torque (with hp battery) but the quick change (tool free) blade swap system is awesome.
When you just want to approach from a different angle, on a ladder, being able to flip the switch, rotate the blade, and flip the switch back is VERY worth it.

I just used my multi tool yesterday cutting a hole out for a in-wall vanity (turned out nice btw). I have used it 2x in 2 years and even at that little usage I think the quick connect version would have been much better. It's not intuitive - especially the key storage. If I used this more I would definitely replace - but if I didn't have one and were going to buy one I would definitely recommend the quick change version. Other than that it's a great little tool.

Yea to me the upgrade is well worth it. Even if you don't use it that often. My dad would always use his trusty tools. When I use his and compare to mine, it's a huge difference. It would take me longer on his tool and the safety doesn't even compare. Imagine cutting a branch up high for example, I would want it done as fast as I can. The longer I'm on that ladder, the more likely I'll hurt myself.

But I understand my dad, always wanting to save the buck and not upgrading his tool. He would say, "if it isn't broken, then keep using it".

Once I got into the brushless version, I can't go back. I'll gladly sell my old tools.
