All mainstream candle makers use paraffin wax that is a petroleum byproduct and carcinogenic. These types of candles basically release pollution into your indoor air. If you want candles that do not release pollution into the air, choose 100% pure beeswax candles from small suppliers like found on Etsy and similar. Although pure beeswax candles are generally more expensive, they do not release harmful pollutants into the air and they burn much slower.

I love these things, but they're so unhealthy for the home. Specially if you have dogs

Those don't smell as strong or last as long. I used to buy cheap target and walmart candles and I wouldn't smell them past 15 feet. A yankee or bw candle smells throughout the whole house

I've seen a lot of soy candles from fairly mainstream candle makers.

Big doubt. If it was **proven** to be carcinogenic it wouldn't be legal. Same goes for artificial sweeteners.

So you think BBQ that's charred would also be illegal then?
