That's a lot of money for essentially a 1600W generator just to have the Ecoflow smart integration.

Yeah, it's a lot of money for the power you get.. However, the DC charging and auto start stop integration you get with it is very nice.. I'll get a nicer 3/4k inverter unit though.. Just not worth it to me...

This generator is not really designed for standalone use. It's intended for people that are powering their homes or RVs with large Ecoflow batteries like the Delta Pro. This is meant to supplement solar for times when you aren't getting enough power, this thing will kick itself on and charge your batteries.

It is, however the integration is pretty cool, and I have yet to find a comprable system that is as plug and play.
Using it with an off grid solar system, wanted solar charge controller + ability to start generator if solar was not enough, and wanted a solution that was as foolproof as possible (i.e. not from 7 different vendors)​

It's lower for the output but the simple fact that it integrates into the ecoflow universe, will automatically start when solar or other power is insufficient, can be monitored and controlled remotely through the ecoflow app gives it some serious value for those in the ecoflow universe.
