Anybody got any codes that work for Macy's? I tried several and couldn't get anything to work. Here's a list of ones that DIDN'T work:
- ENJOY (20% off)
- 25% off from text sign up
- 25% off from email sign up

In my experience ETBs provide the worst "Hit Rates". Still a good deal here. So I'll bite.

All the ETBs I opened seemed to have terrible hit rates.

Which is a better box?
This one, Obsidian Flames, or Paldea Evolved.
I'm not sure of the differences between the sets.

If you're buying to open, then look at the set lists and see which cards you like best. If you're buying to "invest" then 151 > PE > Disney Stock > OF. Personally I'd wait for Black Friday sales. Blowout cards has a case of 151 ETBs for $500 no tax which is the same as this deal.

My guess is people are after the Charizard in 151 and that it only has some of the original 151 Pokemon in the set. Obsidian Flames has Charizard in there as well. I don't think Paldea does.

My son will definitely open them and will play with them. So I guess I'd want the box that has the most playable cards.

So then this set seems like the winner for someone who will open them and play with them if it has the original Pokémon.

Well, 151s Illustration Charizard is pretty cool, and will probably hold $$$ better, but Flames' looks cooler in person.

And 151 does include all 151 original pokemon. Still missing a damn Zapdos

151 is being sought after for nostalgia as far as I can tell. Prices have also stayed elevated for booster packs as they won't be releasing 36ct booster boxes and the 6pack boxes have been hard to come by. 2nd hand they're consistently $40+. Individual boosters haven't fallen below $5/pack and can only really be had by buying posters and collection boxes, whereas most other sets go to $3/pack pretty quick

It seems like this latest wave of 151 product have had terrible hit rates. I opened the latest 2 upc, 3 zapdos, 3 alakazam, 10 booster bundles, and all of them have been awful. If you want to get booster bundles keep an eye on walmart.com they don't have limits and get them in stock consistently.

Why you think OD is so bad, the psa 10 charz is 400 on eBay, that promo card is the deal, will probably get a lot of attention from future collector

If you truly want the cheapest way to play, look for the league battle decks. It takes a ton of cash to build a decks from opening packs.

Pokemon card print rates are in the billions so I'm still wondering how they hold "value" for investors or flippers? The company makes it clear this is a game and they want to promote the card game. With print rates terrifyingly higher than sports junk wax era days how do the individual cards still carry what premiums I'm seeing online?

This is a question and commentary not an argument btw....

Not looking to argue with people either or hurt feelings, but I share your sentiment. The amount of people sending in new Charizard's for grading are being naive. Base set Charizard's are rare because kids damaged them, lost them, played with them, etc., and less were printed. The thought that 151 is going to have the same value when everyone is tucking them away in hardcases for 20 years down the road is just silly lol.
