Before anyone comes in saying this laptop has heating or throttling issues, it certainly does not.
This is one of the best performing RTX 3070 Ti laptops, esp in the 17" category, while also being among the quieter and cooler ones.
You can read more about it in the review: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Raz...411.0.html
The review model above is with the 240Hz QHD display, but apart from that everything is the same as on this model.

I'm glad you saw it on gamestop.
You should've seen it again coz that was the 14" model.

I have the 2070 model, and while it performs well and is beautiful, I've now had to replace a spicy pillow of a battery twice. Yes anecdotal evidence only, but there are a lot of complaints about it.
Have they taken care of these design flaws yet?

Once you get to the larger screen sizes with larger chassis, it's not as common to get throttling issues. I'd probably think a 17" laptop has poor design issues if it can't dissipate enough heat to throttle from normal usage.

Tough sell when you can get a Lenovo 7i pro with a 13900HX, RTX 4070 full powered and a QHD 240HZ screen for the same price

Full HD on a 17 inch 🤦 is a hard sell

I guess the razer tax is still alive and well

It's only a tax if you can't appreciate things like the compact size, unibody construction, killer speakers, and other niceties. The legion this year is pared back with plastic body, no fingerprint scanner, worse camera, cheap plastic trackpad, and a bunch of other corner cutting. If it's all about gaming specs for the money, some people are happy carrying around a desktop PC in a cardboard case.

I daily drive a MacBook Pro 16 M1 Max so I believe I do.

The legion 7i is definitely not plastic, and is quite compact. You might think about the legion 5 pro?

Why would pay premium for a laptop with a 3070? Especially considering BF is mere days away?

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I am pulling my trigger.

I think currently, there are definitely many similar spec'ed laptops out there for sale, at a lower price. For example, the ASUS TUF 15.6" laptop could be one along with other Alienwares + MSI + OMEN.

However, this particular laptop has high customization potential with its ram and SSD. Although the monitor is FHD, I personally won't need anything fancy as I will have an external display connected which supports higher resolutions. People do forget that also design, and brand name should be taken into consideration when you look at the price. Of course, it is def. at a higher price end compared to other laptops w/ same spec, but Razer laptops, in my opinion, have superior aesthetics and uniqueness relative to its competitors (This is subjective as well).

Ultimately speaking, I am very biased, as owning a Razer product was a big thing for me and still is. Please make your own thoughful decision, but subjectively speaking, I believe this is a fantastic deal.

Not sure, but I too have the 2070 15" and the battery seems to be bloating (can't press down on the trackpad and don't want to open it b/c it's hard to close once it's opened with a bloated battery). I'm also out of warranty.

Which battery did you buy and how long has each lasted?
