I had this model for 2-3 weeks now and I like it. The only thing I found inconvenient is the water leaks in drip tray during processing milk drinks like cappuccino. Not the regular on and off cycles but just for milk drinks. Red somewhere that Delonghi support said it's supposed to be normal as pressure relive during milk frothing. I would like to hear if anyone else is experiencing the same thing. Other than that it's easy to clean and makes good tasty drinks.

I think this is the same machine for $50 less at Sur La Table [surlatable.com] if you wanted to mention it in the OP.

it is normal.. not leak, steam will be cooled and become water. I use frothing machine to do milk. it is much more convenient.

I have this machin since july. amazing coffees. incomparable w Phillips. Use it 2 3 times a day. Needs descaling way too often and it is time consuming.

I was researching between those 2 and decided with this one based of other people's reviews which said it's better in terms of cleaning, frothing and producing crema vs Philips models 3200 or 4300. I'm usin RO water so hardness is not an issue for me and descalining should be less frequent. Check some YT comparison videos as well.

It creates so much more water than if it was from regular condensation (cooling down). For that part they have a small red tray integrated into big tray to collect small drips. Probably part of their design just need to confirm with their support.

I purchased a similar version from Costco for the same price, only difference is lack if coffee and ice coffee option (not sure why Costco version is gimped). Thing is great. Takes a bit getting used to, in particular to adjust the grind setting for your beans and figure out the error codes. Instructions aren't very helpful either.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the cleanup like? I've been thinking of moving away from my Nespresso Latissima and to either one of this or the Philips Lattego, but the cleanup on the Latissima is dead simple and quick.

Here is a video of some basic cleaning process:

I think greasing infuser piston once a month/2 month with food grade grease is good practice. Descaling cycle takes a little more time like 45 minutes but usually done every 2 months on average. Frequency depends of settings and water hardness . I use filtered RO water with No 1 setting on the machine. To prevent frequent descaling cycle process & save your time and money, just re-set the hardness level of the machine from No.4 (near salinity water as default by vendor) to level No. 1 (for mineral water) or to No. 2 ( for tap water).
