With the cash back and credit card rewards I'm still getting it for well below spot. I hope this helps :-)

whats the point with the added risk of storage, loss, theft, commissions on sale when you can just pick a gold tracked ETF?
Agree, unless you plan on investing several tens of thousands in physical gold, I personally don't see the risk/reward benefit or hedge opportunity to diversify a portfolio. Sign up for an exchange and purchase holdings there. Safer bet

I got one! Even the price $60 over spot. %2 costco + %2 credit card cash back, it comes to $1920 per oz.

This is always my argument.

I've bought a few to finance a Cuban chain I've been wanting.
Doesn't this become cost prohibitive to have a chain made from your gold bars ? I think the magic is finding one of those coin shops that will sell you chains out of their scrap pile.

Definitely not.

Especially if you want something bigger and 18k. Works out to $8/gram of completed product.

I'm not a prepper and I bought one. Now what?
Just carry it around and brag mainly, but then hit someone if they talk trash

I'm just worried on how to liquidate this afterwards. I could see how you want to hold on to this in the event dollar value drops like crazy

Given that Costco no longer offers a deal on these, I recommend going with sovereign bullion instead. Same costs.

It's well below spot with 5% back from Chase freedom flex. Gold is a long term investment, and costco is a reliable seller.

$70 over spot… no longer a deal. Sad
Where can you buy physical gold bar at spot price? I checked couple places and they have extra charge ($100 - $200) over spot price.

Dumb question, but these are all usually 24k gold, right?

What would be the process to sell this, if you ever wanted to?
