Also sounds like an opportunity to renew your warranty.

No, not faster. Not even really slimmer. Wouldn't trade a perfectly good PS5 for a slim for any reason. The "upgraded" Pro model is rumored for 2024.

Not bad, but I don't necessarily see the slim as an upgrade over the OG unless you really want that MW3 code at a good discount. I might do something like this when/if a PS5 Pro comes along though.

I wonder if trade in value for non disc version is the same ? I have a digital.. this would be a slickdeal to upgrade to disc version.

Keep your ps5 if I were you. Slim is not any better than OG, only smaller size + usb-c. If you're JB enthusiasts, stay away from slim. You will be required to update FW every time you hard reset ps5 slim. Why? Because the disc will be unpaired and required internet connection to pair to slim console.

This is a way of Sony to prevent second-hand console trading. If the slim disk is paired to another console, you cannot pair it unless psn owner unpair it from their account. Like iphone's lock.

Also, why would anyone spend $70+ to play 10 years old game? If you have ps4 version from years back, you can convert it for free. Just my2c.
This is a new Modern Warfare III. Although, by most accounts it's not a full fledged "game" and should have been DLC. It is hovering around 50% on Metacritic. A digital copy of MWIII should not really be viewed as a positive here.

Kinda like throwing in a pair of dirty old used skivvies with the sale of a new suit.

I bought the PS5 and Xbox a year ago and decided to keep the xbox. The PS5 was passed the return window so unable to return. It is still in the box collecting dust. Is this the best way to unload it without getting scammed on eBay and their eBay fees? Do they give cash or do I need to trade in for slim ps5?

Thanks in advance

Disc Version -

Pro Member - $250
Non Pro - $227

Digital Version -

Pro - $212
Non - $192

Best bet depending on where you live is to sell on Marketplace and get $300-$400 for Disc Version or $200-$300 for digital.

Like another poster said, renewed warranty and newer console, new controller, and a game, for a little over the purchase price of the game itself with the trade in. While there isn't a "need" for this, if you were thinking of picking up the game anyway it's a good deal.

I also used my $5 reward from the pro membership, and you can add any additional rewards to the purchase if you have enough points to claim them.

I am really disappointed, I remember in Canada when the PS4 Slim came out, EB Games (Gamestop) had a trade in offer that included Uncharted 4, 1 year of PS Plus and thumbgrips for $80 CAD + Tax. (and this was without a Pro Membership). Back then Uncharted was $60, so the upgrade made total sense.

This time, less so... like others mentioned, if you were planning to get MW3 anyways then it may be worth it, but you can easily get the disk version that you can resell from target for about $47 with the promo they have), the increased storage space is an extra boost....but nothing to cheer about.

For people like me who had their pro membership expire, it doesn't make too much sense.

You are looking at $357.50 + $50 bonus - $25 for renewing membership = $382.50

499.99 - 382.50 = $117.49 plus tax

For that price you get a renewed warranty, smaller form factor (which should help the console run cooler and last longer) an extra 175 gb of storage space and Modern Warfare 3

Thanks. It is a disc version. Are you talking about facebook marketplace or Marketplace app? Do they charge fees to sell?

The new slim model is just a redesign. it improves nothing. there is no reason to get it unless you have the digital and want the disc drive
It's a bummer that nothing was done in regards to power usage, like they've done w/ the redesigns in the past. It's just a smaller footprint, with a removable disk drive.

just did the trade-in, unfortunately my local GS didn't have any slims in stock so just took the store credit, now I'm wondering if I should even put it toward the slim at all, I barely touched the PS5 when I had it but then there really isn't that much else to buy there

can you sell the MW3 digital code?

FB - no fees if local. I have never used shipping, too many variables for problems or issues to arise.

You can get cash but they don't give as much for cash as they do for store credit

People would be hard to convince to buy a used digital for even $350. $300 would be the best price. Not sure if marketplace will also report sale to IRS and if needs to be shipped, then you deduct that from profit as well.
