No, not faster. Not even really slimmer. Wouldn't trade a perfectly good PS5 for a slim for any reason. The "upgraded" Pro model is rumored for 2024.

Not bad, but I don't necessarily see the slim as an upgrade over the OG unless you really want that MW3 code at a good discount. I might do something like this when/if a PS5 Pro comes along though.

I can almost guarantee that by the time that Sony stops signing drive certificates it'll be long jailbroken and it'll no longer matter

If it messes up, you won't be getting a new system.

They tried doing something similar at the start of this year and they reversed it because of the backlash.

But now, it seems like they are not reversing the policy. Definitely not worth the $25 per year

So I did the deal total came out to $157 out of pocket ($25 for gamestop Pro + $132 for the deal) including a $70 game value, $87 for PS5 OG to PS5 Slim upgrade (new warranty, controller)

This is kind of how it feels. If you're hellbent on mwiii I guess it makes sense, but just the hassle of having to remove my account, pack up the PlayStation and drive to GameStop to deal with some employee that judges me for being an old man playing video games makes this deal not worth it, haha.

Doing some mathing. Paid about 540$ total 2 years ago for my PS5. So to get the same system with no real upgrades is another 150$. so paying just about 700$ for a PS5. Doesn't sound like a great deal

The PS4 slim wasn't that much smaller or better than the OG PS4 so what yall complaining about. This is made to help reduce costs for sony.

Either way this offer would be a good upgrade for some yall cockroach infesting smokers PS5s to get a new one for cheap
