not everyone wants 4k. 1440p is way more popular. Especially at this price. You dont build a PC that can run 4k and then get a monitor for $150.

Close. Acer has 3 yr warranty this has 1yr. Acer response time 1ms faster. This has 300nits acer has 250.

also Acer Walmart has the Christmas return policy so you can return it locally until December 31st. so you could buy it now and always return it or something better comes along.

No Freesync/g-sync is a deal breaker.

Not to derail the thread, but $184 for 4k and USB-C with 65W PD charging seems like the better buy to me. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=44522

This was $150 a week or so ago. I got one and I like it so far. Though it's only 60hz which may matter to some depending on usage.

No Freesync support, and no 4K.- other great specs for gaming
4k sucks for gaming, for most people. And if you have a $2000 video card capable of driving a 4k monitor at a decent frame rate, why are you trying to find the cheapest possible monitor LMAO

For a decent video card, a 2k monitor is much better for games than a 4k monitor. In this size (27"), you can almost get away with 1080p. Personally, I'd say 1080p up to 24", 2k up to 32" (or 2k widescreen up to 34" or so), and 4k above that. I wouldn't game on a 4k monitor with an ATI/AMD GPU at all (they're great at 2k but struggle at 4k), and nothing less than a nvidia 3080 desktop card (and preferably a 4090).

As for "no freesync", there's no way to tell, because it's frickin' Monoprice. They never publish any useful information about their products, probably because they don't bother to translate from the Chinese products that they're relabeling. A customer did post this though: "I was able to turn-on G-sync. There is an option to turn it on in the menu under 'Setup Menu' > 'Variable Refresh Rate' to ON. HDR is accepted but is color is not right.. SDR 10-bit 1440p 170hz."

It allows the frame rate from the PC to be dynamically matched by the the monitor. It's called "adaptive refresh rate", and apparently this monitor does support it, although there's no official indication on the Monoprice web site.

In the Q&A section...

"I just got this delivered. To my surprise, I was able to turn-on G-sync. There is an option to turn it on in the menu under 'Setup Menu' > 'Variable Refresh Rate' to ON. HDR is accepted but is color is not right.. SDR 10-bit 1440p 170hz."

I'm looking for a larger monitor for my work from home set up. Getting older and eyes are not as sharp. What specs should I be looking for? I'm thinking 27 inch. Not sure 32 in will fit on my desk (looking for 2 monitors)
I have this monitor and can tell a difference in its color and brightness to the others I've owned in the past. Paid more when it first came out for mine.
