If Wags hasn't already thought of it, they're hopeless. When a company makes a change that might not be good for its customers you always have to think about what store can benefit from this or on a personal level what store(s) can I start going to that I didn't have time for when I was going to CVS a couple of times a week. CVS probably figures that since they're so awesome people won't look for alternatives. I don't think that Karen Lynch understands what has made CVS great. It's the big red machine where you scan your card and get immediate reinforcement. Take away the positive result of getting great coupons with a negative result of getting nothing and it makes CVS just like every other store except that you pay twice as much for the same thing.

There's a tremendous opportunity for grocery stores to get into the pharmacy business. My Vons is always packed but the pharmacy is empty. It makes no sense since the co-pay is much cheaper than CVS and Wags.

It may be different in some states, but I believe co-pay is usually determined by one's insurance company, not the pharmacy. At least that's always been the case for me. At our major grocery store chain in town, Hy-Vee, the pharmacy is often quite busy. Recently, there was over an hour wait for the flu shot and there's always folks in line picking up meds. Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't allow me to get 90 day meds at the lower price any place other than CVS, and the only one in town is inside the Target. Always a crazy place with a terrible parking lot. Ugh!

The reason that CVS bought Aetna is that they want to be the place you go to for all of your health care needs. You'll get the benefit of convenience and (hopefully) lower prices as well as things like 90-day refills which can save you a ton of money especially if the drug is non-prescription. I've found that there's very little difference in the 30-day and 90-day price. You might as well get the 90-day. Vons will get you the lowest price on the non-prescription drugs while CVS will charge you an arm and a leg (that's my experience). There can be a $10 difference in the co-pay on prescription drugs between Vons and CVS. For somebody like me, that can be a $300 difference per month. We aren't talking about pennies.

I don't think that there's a worse parking lot in the world than Costco. There was a traffic accident right in front of where I live last night. I could have avoided it if I had turned into a parking lot but I didn't see the traffic jam until I was past the driveway. I didn't think that I was going to be able to get home because the police had everything blocked off by that time (including the driveway that I passed) and there's no street parking. I did something a little bit sneaky and got home. Fortunately, the police didn't see me. I didn't do anything wrong other than an illegal U-turn but I had no choice. I couldn't have got home without doing it.

I almost always get the 90 day supply for multiple reasons. One, I don't need to bother with them as often. Two, my insurance (no matter which company) has always charged two monthly co-pays for a 90 day supply so I save 1/3 of the cost which is also a big savings for me as I take seven meds for chronic conditions. My current insurance company (UHC) uses Caremark as their prescription manager so the only place I can take advantage of their 90 day supply pricing is at CVS or mail order. I actually use mail order for the majority of meds as this is just easiest for me. In fact, my husband just went out the door to go get the mail from the box down the street as five of my meds were delivered there an hour ago. I do go to CVS within Target for one as I have a manufacturer's saving card for a brand name drug and the mail order facility does not use this. It gives me a $275 savings for a 90 day supply so I'm willing to go to Target instead of utilizing mail order. But I do wish I could get it at the grocery store's pharmacy as I'm there already getting groceries and it would save me another trip.

As far as the Costco parking lot, I don't have a membership nor shop there so I have nothing to compare. Also, I have a handicapped parking tag so that tends to make parking lots (at least getting a decent parking spot) a bit easier.

That's a lot of pay for a non-prescription drug. I'm sorry that you're on your own for that and your insurance doesn't cover it. I have a few non-prescription drugs that I have to take but they cost $10 not hundreds.

I started watching The Bear last night. It's good but i'm not sure that I'll stick with it. The behind the scenes cooking stuff doesn't interest me that much. I've been watching Wild Crime this afternoon. It was the next thing on. It's very good but I wouldn't recommend it. It's very sick. I'm on the last episode. I'll be glad when it's over. Oh shoot, there's a season 2. No thanks.

I liked The Bear. Did not watch Wild Crime. I'm three (out of eight) episodes into Nine Perfect Strangers. Haven't really figured out yet if I like it or not. Certainly could do without Nicole Kidman which is who is probably keeping me from liking it more. I'm probably going to watch it all; it's just not something that I can't wait to turn on and get to the next episode. I've read a second season is planned so there must be some interest in it.

I found Wild Crime to be extremely disturbing. I wish that I hadn't watched it.

Something like Tylenol if you have pain but don't want to take Norco. A stool softener would be another one. Vitamins. I have multiple vitamin deficiencies plus anemia. It can also be prescription drugs that your insurance won't cover like Flexeril in my case because of my age. It didn't work anyway. There's so much waste when they give you a 30 day supply of something and you take one pill and have a bad reaction. It's no big deal if it's something like Tylenol but what if it's Brilinta and the average cost of a 30 day supply is over $500?
