Vons shouldn't have raised their bagel price to $1.29. I can get a dozen bagels at Panera on Tuesday for $9.49 and a free drink with the Sip Club. I got a free large oatmeal cookie with my rewards the other day and it was delicious. If I go in on a typical day and just get bagels, Panera will be a little more expensive than Vons but the upgrade in quality is worth it. Vons is going to lose my business because if I'm not going in there for bagels then I'm not going in there for the rest of my groceries. Walmart is just up the road and I absolutely hate how Vons makes me do email verification every time I want to load my coupons. With Walmart I can just get in my car and go and my Walmart isn't that busy so I can get in and out quickly. It's probably quicker than my Vons because they're super busy.

I get very stressed out about spending $15 if there's nothing that I want or I feel that I'm not getting a good deal. With my heart condition, I'd rather miss out on the $15. Speaking of which, I'm going to the ER very early on Monday morning (like 4am) and I'll probably be in for at least two days unless they tell me that I'm perfectly healthy and to go home. That would be a dream. I was actually hoping that I had covid and that's what was causing all of my chest pain but my test was negative. On the positive side, my EKG is very bad but it's not any worse than it was. My hope is that when I leave the hospital this time that I'll know what's going on rather than have 50 new drugs to take and 20 doctors that I have to see.
Good luck at the ER! I hope they find something that will help you feel better.

But you didn't ask what you could get at RA. You asked what you could spend $15 in ECB on at CVS. I focused my answer on that. Not on what the best deal for those items would be. I gave up on CVS years ago. My last sandwich at Panera was forgettable which was sad since I used to eat there in the midwest and it was really good. Unless I can get a really good deal on GCs I tend to prefer keeping my cash as liquid as possible. So I'd avoid the GC deal altogether.
I keep most of my cash liquid, I agree with that, but I do GC deals for certain things. Usually I do them at Safeway when I can get a coupon for $ off $ (ie $25 off $25) AND I get the rewards I can use on gas or other things. I haven't done a GC deal at CVS in a very long time because I have had way too many ecbs to spend and don't need more CVS $$.

One other thing I've come to factor into my decision to buy a GC or not is how likely the purchase is to be safe. I haven't bought a Visa/Mastercard/Vanilla GC in many years now, because they tend to be the ones the scammers try to steal.

They want to rule out that I didn't have another heart attack. There was something very wrong with me when we talked the other night. I think it's possible that I did have one and didn't know it.

I hope you are ok. Sorry that you have such persistent health problems. Last time I did a GC deal was for some Apple cards as gifts for relatives when SW had a really good reward deal on them. Generally, I pass. It's kind of like the drugstore deals. It's only worth doing the ones that have the store credit if I am sure I can use it later. CVS got more and more coupon unfriendly so leaving there was easy for me. Wags is much better as they have longer times to use the Wags cash before it expires. I lost a bunch of ECBs at CVS when I was away and they suddenly changed their expiration date policy for the ECBs. That kind of pissed me off and then they got more and more cheap with what they accepted and deadlines. The unequal pricing (2/$8 but 1 for $5, that sort of thing) was another downer. They just alienated me by increments to the point where I never really want to shop there.

I lost around $800 ecb's when I had my first heart attack. It wasn't my fault that I couldn't go to the store for 5 months. I was in the hospital half of the time and I couldn't walk 50 feet for most of the other time. CVS wouldn't do anything for me and they're a health care company. Instead of getting mad, I shopped my ass off and got my ecb's back but then CVS wiped me out again with the purge. i said ok and I built them back up again and then CVS made all of their changes and I got out by choice.

I only lost around $30 in ECBs so if I had lost as much as you did, I'd have been a basket case. I got the impression from talking to a mgr at a store that was about to move to a smaller venue that the company was pulling away from the retail end and focusing more on more lucrative stuff like pharmaceuticals and the minute clinics.

Sadly, the Wags near me has very low stock most of the time on many items and large chunks of the store that previously had stuff for sale are now empty. There's wide aisles that used to contain displays that are now just vacant space. Like if they wanted to close early and give ballroom dancing lessons in the space, it would be possible. I suspect they are going to try to adopt the same model as CVS, with in store lab work and that kind of stuff. I've been going to Safeway for my shots and getting 10% off coupons, although I generally buy so little that it hardly seems worth using them. Fortunately, I don't take prescription medicines so that's a venue for discounts that I can't really use. I'm grateful to enjoy good health.

lmao at CVS thinking about the fact I had a bunch of ECB expire. But I actually found a manager that took them all. He said I could use them all but it had to be that day (policy started changing).

rotflmao at the losers at CVS. you could "make a wish" with the Make a wish foundation to get a reissuance on your expired ECB and cvs will still tell you "hell no". LMAO

What is up with this ID policy when you have a receipt for a return at WAGS? It's not a drug or anything like that...just a general in-store purchase. I refused to provide it, the cashier says, why did you buy it, if you were going to return it?
I did the survey, and they refunded my money.

For someone like me, Wags is the safest place to be. I'm only risking the RR's that I currently have which at the moment is $20. My W Cash is good for a year and I'm always using it so I really do have a year. I have under $20 in store money at CVS and RA. If there's a deal that I want to do, I'll use cash to pay and then spend the store money right away.

You never know when that can change. I thought that I was in good health because of how athletic I was but it turns out that I was a time bomb.

it's their policy regardless of the why for the return and they claim no way around it. We had a discussion about it a couple of months ago either here or in the wags thread. It's really messed up when the return is because they screwed up your transaction

Is there a way to get a discount on the Sip Club?
I usually find a code by googling. If that doesnt produce results there is usually a banner on my panera page on the computer that sip club is free for the first X months (even though I have done sip club before and am ineligible). Once you are in SC they want to keep you. When you go to cancel, you will likely get a reduced offer. I have an account and so does my husband so if I cant find a free code, usually just one of us will get it and we have to call dibs. You can get a new one every 2 hours so when we go out we can likely order one before we leave and then get a second on the way home. We bring our own large tumblers.

Is there a way to get a discount on the Sip Club? They won't send me any covid tests because the apartment complex that I live in is considered by the government to be a business. My insurance doesn't cover the test if I want to buy it but I can go in get a test done at my provider's office whenever I make an appointment. I was recently exposed to two people who had covid and one of them is very sick which is why I wanted the covid test. I was very concerned about picking up something from the ER at first but there's not much you can do other than use hand sanitizer or anti-bacterial wipes, clean the surfaces in your car and home that you come into contact with, and wash your clothes. Unfortunately, we can't do anything about the person who has covid and coughs all over the place without covering up but it's too bad that we can't shoot them. It would keep us safe and keep them from reproducing.
if you are joining the sip club, one of the cash back portals has 50% back on the first payment. just check the fine print

My hope is that if you still plan to go the hospital tomorrow that they can come up with a new solution to help. My question is why the ER and not just being admitted by your doctor?

In the meantime, if you are at home looking for something to watch on TV, my suggestion would be to check out Murder at the End of the World on Hulu. I've watched the first two episodes so far and it has kept my attention. Though not true crime it is about a crime and the main character is an author so another area of interest to you.

I was told recently at Wags that if you return an online order or an item purchased at another store, you have to provide your ID because you 'didn't buy the item at that store' and they are going to have to alter their inventory records because of your return. I asked if an ID was required if I did a return of an item I bought at their store and she said, 'Usually you don't, but sometimes the register asks us for it.'

I do recall the discussion of returns (here or in the Wags thread?) awhile back, and someone said then that if you're returning something immediately, their register will ask for the ID then. I can't begin to understand how this makes sense, but if that's the only reason it would ask for my ID and I'm returning due to a pricing error, I might just hold the item to the next day and do a return then.

Remember that in most stores, presenting your ID doesn't just impact your returns at THAT store/company, it can impact your ability to do a return at every other store that participates in the database. Returns are documented in a national database. After a certain number of returns, or a certain dollar threshold of total returns, your ability to return anywhere is impacted. I tried a few years ago to figure out what the number or threshold (or combo) was, but that information is kept under close wraps.
