It you don't want the air fryer, I'm going on 10 years with the BOV800XL. Love it. My oven hasn't seen any use since I got it.

I used to think that Breville toaster ovens were only for elitist rich people who had nothing better to do with their money. I was firmly under the impression that a $20-40 black and decker toaster oven that I had to replace every couple of years was just as good. Well, I was wrong. It's probably something that you need to experience for yourself to understand, but the Breville excels at everything it does. The convection feature actually works and I've never seen such even and perfect browning on a piece of toast. It's expensive, but you pretty much get what you pay for.

How long have you had it? Considering replacing an oven with it since short on counter space. Reviews including CR said it doesn't do toast very well but then I wouldn't be making 9 slices at one time. Is it easy to clean? Appreciate any comments hope hasn't aready been asked. If answered Iu don't need to repeat. Haven't read down through the thread yet.

I have the BOV650XL for 7 years. This is easily our most-used appliance in the house. We rarely use the oven unless a party with guests. Now toaster oven would power on, and controls are working fine. The heating element do not heat up or warm up.
It is a pain to take it apart and put in back together. The parts are getting hard to get. Time for replacement.

Got the BOV900BSSUSC as a convection oven for scientific purposes. It gets used about 4 hours every day and has been 100% problem free. Reasonably accurate and easy to use. Quality feels great and the accessories are nice. It actually goes lower than most other convection ovens, which is what I needed it for.

Note that the "0" time mark signifies when it says preheating is complete. Setting was bake, super convection. 80c is low for almost all baking, but I'm not running another test for slick deals.

I'm loving my Gourmia $40 air fryer.

How do these combo toaster oven/air fryers compare for air fryer vs. the big tall ones.

I've heard that they are not as good because of air circulation, but would love to hear more from here.

I always buy the "black and decker" type toaster. Cant fit a pizza, that's what the oven is for. I like to be under $40. When it gets too dirty, toss it and get a new one!

I did like Breville products for a while. Bought their toaster, bread maker, smart oven (...and other? Feel I'm forgetting something.) and all of them ended up having problems.

They have fancy exteriors and functions, but are cheaply made and fail after a few years despite their higher price tags (in my experience.) No more.
They do seem to do a pretty good job while they're actually working at least.

EDIT: Oh yeah. Also bought the Breville ice cream maker (expensive one with built-in compressor.)

I have the 950 (Breville had a deal back in April for 399$) but the 900 likely is the best bang for the buck. I use the unit everyday and love the size and the "super convection" feature. I always use that even without the "air fryer" basket. It crisps up my tater tots, reheats my proteins, finishes my steaks, etc. I also bake with it since it's a good size and never have to use my old slow oven anymore. In a gadget guy and the joule was a good deal so I splurged. Haven't I used its "smart cooking" features even once? Not really. Unless you consider the notifications it sends you when it's preheated/ done cooking a feature then yes.
Conclusion - go for the 900 if you can fit it.
