Aldi carries 100 tablets of 200mg Ibuprofen for $1.99 if you have their stores nearby. Been buying it for years

I've found with Amazon "ingestables" with expiration dates tend to go on sale when they get older and they need to clear them out.

Ibuprofen tabs are an "inert" medicine, meaning their safety and efficacy are good for many years after the expiration.
The big ones you don't want to use expired (due to needing ALL the "power") would be aspirin, nitroglycerin, and insulin, as well liquid antibiotics.

I mean good to know for future reference although that nearly twice the cost per unit of the identical product here.

That's true on the cost, but how many of them one would take so 500 can be used before expiration?

Exactly this. I have stopped buying any food or OTC meds from Amazon that's on sale. You'll have maybe a month or two before expiration date.

Watch out with taking ibuprofen. I just got out of the hospital last week with a couple esophagus ulcers. Purely from taking too much ibuprofen.

For the most part. They eventually lose effectiveness over time but that doesn't start happening with tablet forms of ibuprofen for several years after expiration. Long story short, you will probably use all 500 before they're no longer at full potency.
