Not bad at all. Would be hard pressed to build a system with these specs for less.

I bought the i5-13400F version of this PC from Walmart last month and it has been phenomenal. We'll other than a fubar'ed Windows install, Windows App store was broken so pretty much anything that installed from there didn't work either. Figured it out when jpg's had no program assigned to open them Wink

Luckily Windows 11 has "in-place install" method now so you can basically attempt to reinstall Windows 11 on top of the existing install. I expected that to fail and need to do a full reset however it worked flawlessly.

at this price console is probably a better option for playing games, I feel PC only starts becoming worth it after you break the 1000$ price point
Yeah but again...it's console...boring.

Yep, I bought the same one from WalMart. I did not do a full reset, I just installed apps from the store. Wish I waited a bit to save some more money, but alas.

weird configuration. So a product team or marketing team thought it is a good idea to use older CPU + latest video card. Why?

Curious if either of you could tell me what the motherboard was in that desktop? I can't seem to find any information about it online. Trying to decide if I want to return that desktop when it gets here, and get this one instead

Seems to be the same MSI machine as this one but with a Gen 13 processor. Otherwise specs appear the same (at first glance).

That Skytech machine looks pretty sweet. Paying an extra $50 for double the ram is a no brainer.

It allows poor folks like me to be able to afford the latest GPU.

To help get rid of older CPU inventory and possibly to keep the costs down is my guess.

I think we still got a solid deal, perhaps we could have saved $50-100 if we waiting a month or more but could have missed out as well. Computer prices seemed to have bottomed out since COVID and the GPU bubble ending. Not to mention mid/high tier gaming machines are rarely deeply discounting (in volume at least) for BF. We'll see a bunch of Gen 11 CPU's and 3050/60's mostly. Nothing wrong with that setup but really wanted a current gen CPU and 4060 at least. I upgrade so infrequently* I did not want to start 2-3 years behind the curve.

*Replaced a 7 Gen Intel / 1060 Wink

And the the 12400 is still a fine card for gaming. 13400 is only 10% better or so
